    Morning Carl.

That DTRL recall has been out for a while. Didn't apply to my '07 because it doesn't have them. But my friend's '06 Sport model had them and they replaced his.

If you fill the cooler with beer and pop, they'll let you hang around the porch. I've been checking in here for years and still have 10 yrs before I'm truly qualified. Hoping to learn enough from my mentors here to get there. ;)

Close enough, you will slide right in, consider yourself an apprentice! :) Welcome!!!
Yup, the new guys get to fill up the cooler.

Back from the Toyota doc. The spiral cable was done and two headlights are on order to be done at a later date. Coming home I was in a long line of traffic doing about 15 mph for about 5 miles, don't know why because there was no construction going on. Then after that I got in another line behind a state truck that was sweeping the road and was down to around 10 mph for a few miles. :annoyed:

So, it was a relatively smooth trip, slow, but smooth. ;)

Evening Everyone...Hey Carl, had all 5 recalls on mine done and they ordered me a new frame. The first spiral cable they put in didn't last but 5 miles. Took it back and so far so good. Waiting to see how long before the frame comes in.
Welcome on board Rich:thumbsup:. There are and have been quite a few youngsters that drop in from time to time. Doors always open.
I've been watching the news from California. Have a Niece that lives out in the boonies in Penryn CA. and wondering if Bob is out working the fires again. I have to give those guys all the accolades I can think of because of there determination they have in fighting back the fires. Prayers going out to all of them and their families that they all may return home safe. Bob, Be safe:thumbsup::pray:

I saw a bunch of new frames sitting behind the dealership when I drove in. Those are probably ones they ordered in for trucks that already failed and are waiting to be replaced. The guy I fish with was told 4-6mo wait to get his replaced.
He has a "06" TRD x-cab with around 160k on it. I think he said the frame replacement would cost Toyota around 15k, which sounds kind of high. I would think the truck would not be worth much more than that? He was wishing they would give him the option of putting the 15k toward the purchase of a new truck and just scrap his.
Mike would know more about that than me.

Hi Carl, Been reading the "frame rust thread" and got pricing for parts and labor $12000.00 to $14000.00  and that doesn't include a loaner for the time they have the Tacoma. Here is a picture of what all is covered under the recall.

Are those estimates about right Mike?

Been mid 80's here the last few days and :yay: for cooler temps!!! mid 50's at night :woot: :yay: kinda cool in the morning but NOT complaining - feels nice!!!!

 uh, wait a darn minute here now!!!!

Rob :1up: How'd the yard sale go?

x2 on the  for the victims and firefighters

 don't leave!!! they let some of us wannabees hang around as long as we don't cause trouble o_O

 think the only recall left on my truck is the gas pedal and they are NOT gonna do it, as long as I own it!!!!

 think they'd have learned last time. Coat the frames before installation and they'd have saved themselves the headache and $$ for another frame recall

How many recalls have your trucks had? I think I got 6, maybe more. Never had so many on any vehicle that I've owned. I guess that's all the sue happy lawyers' fault

Hi Cheech, How's the weather been over there? I had 5 recalls on my Tacoma. The first was for the floor mat interference with he brake over ride update, the airbag spiral cable replacement (my air bag light came on and the cable fixed the problem), inspect and replace if needed springs and screws, replace drivers side and passenger side front seat belt bolts, and the frame rust recall. That's it for now:confused: hopefully...have a good night all

 :pccoffee: 2012 4x4 v6 base here, no recalls that I can --- uhmmm --- recall.

We went to the first show of our subscription at the local college last night. Saw "Trombone Shorty" a.k.a. Troy Andrews and his band Orleans Avenue. Funk with a large dose of rock n' roll. I felt like I was being assaulted by them rather than entertained! The volume seemed to be about 4x too high for the venue, and there was a light show that pointed into the crowd. I happened to have my sunglasses in my pocket from the drive over, and I was very glad to have them. From what I could tell they were accomplished musicians, but the sound was so loud it hurt and the lights were so bright I had to turn my head - even with the sunglasses. After a while we got up and left.

I remember seeing rock acts in the 60's and 70's and I'm sure they were loud, and I also know that younger people absorb that stuff more easily than us old coots. But the crowd at those shows tends to be on the gray-haired side and I'm certain we weren't the only ones overwhelmed by them. On the other hand there were people dancing in the aisles. Let's just say there were two camps in the audience - those who were having the time of their lives, and those who were in fear for their lives.

:woot: for a break in the temps for you Susan.

Sold some stuff ... still a lot left ... I think she wants to try again this weekend. Me, I want my garage back. But I'm doing my best to stay patient, calm, and quiet. These are not my strongest traits ... so it's a bit of a struggle. But I'm managing so far. ;)

OZ shared the following link in the 40+ thread; thought ya'll here would appreciate it.

Hope all are well and have a great day. :)

 sounds like when I went to church with my son and dil.... LOUD service, needed ear plugs  and it was still too loud. One could have been deaf and still heard the music.

Hope everyone is watching the DEBATE!
I normally wouldn't, but for some reason I find it interesting and entertaining.
Of course I think most of it is BS and no matter what it will be down to business as usual---UNLESS!!

Yeah, I had all of those, plus one for some wheel problem that didn't affect my truck because I didn't have them. Still waiting on the outcome for the leaf spring recall.

Weather's finally back to normal for now, with brisk tradewinds & temps in the mid to high 80's & humidity in the low 70's. Had some rain, but it's all good, as it cools us down a bit. Last Saturday was hell. I played golf, there was no wind, and humidity so thick the damn ball wouldn't go very far. I was dripping in sweat just putting on the practice green. Did not feel well after the round despite drinking a lot of water, I think I had a bit of heat stroke.

BUT TODAY WE HAVE A TSUNAMI TO WORRY ABOUT!!! Oh well, just another shitty day in paradise!
