    I live up in Bowie.

My parents had a home in Fairhaven on the Bay, right on the county line. They were in AA county.

10-4 On that I was a $ dum ass but my cuz in So La. real smart boy on $ put my on 1 good stock after the other in the mid 90. He is also the one that told me to sell everything in 07 and buy gold like he was doing. He has been a lawyer for 40 years but his true calling is a $ man. The man cant miss. He was a W-O chopper fly boy in V.N.. The one with the big red cross on the side for a target. Was shot down 3 times in less then 90 days, God has looked out for him to this day. I'm dam lucky to have him or now I would be selling pencils on the corner in downtown Orl.. Jim

The missus and I weren't so lucky in trusting a family member who worked for a broker...we thought she was on the ball with the stocks and invested money with Merrill Lynch through her (she works for them) and ended up lossing $90,000 plus in the market:facepalm::annoyed:...shame on us for trusting a family member(not immediate family)... live and learn...God bless your cousin for his service and coming out in one piece...shot down 3 times... ouch:eek:...finished reading the book Matterhorn by Karl Marlantes. ..it's a novel about Nam and a Marine company and the :crapstorm: they put up with and the Men they lost...very sad but the stories ring true to what went on over there...Ken

Ricky was one lucky boy, last time he was shot down he was the only one to live. But got burned over 75% of his body. Spent 5 years going to VA burn center in Az.. put his ass and back skin on his face and arms so he could go out and peeps would not run from him. He has 3 purple hearts a bronze & silver star, He met a cat in law school that got his dads firm to give him a job. All they do is oil co work,Ricky is the first non fam. partner in 100 years. They have taken care of him like one of there own..Cant tell you about all the pals that have been cleaned out by brokers, The boomers got kicked in the balls at a bad time in life too old to make it back and too young for the dirt nap. Want to read the best book ever on V.N.,Its (Sand in the wind) by Robert Roth. I love this book, it is the way it was.... Jim:)

evening all: amazing story about jims cuz, rick. good for what he accomplished, and that life has treated him well after what he initially went through.

guess what? started with merrill lynch 40+ yrs ago, wasn't satisfied and changed brokers. well; now I'm back with them through BOA. I'm self directed so I don't really use their "buys".( think I posted about this before.)

saw another tail today. almost out at the truck when one took off, down throught the thick brush. darn critters are sneaky. would have been a very short drag.

still itching from those darn ticks. now that it's colder they don't seem to be a problem. I'm sure getting a lot of exercise. was out most of the day and didn't see a tail.

My daughter's boyfriend lives in Fairhaven. I drive through Bowie to Baltimore for work 75 miles each way. Good thing I have a company car.
I drive the Tacoma on Fridays.

It's been real intersting. Started as a paid Firefighter in 1972 and like all Firefighters I got a part time job, at the Naval Research Lab Fire test Lab. Went full time in 85 doing test work. Been almost all over the world and seen a lot of neat things. 5 more years at the most if I can get the young guy trained by then.
