60+ year old thread.

Boatswain. I live in OK. We have indeed seen the enormous destruction of mother nature here every spring. In the 30 but teens at night. Wind is the killer with chill factors hitting low 20s.

 

I drove a Semi through Greensburg, Kansas about a week or so after it was almost totally wiped out by a Tornado some years ago. It looked like the place had been bombed!

 

I think we need a training session for a newbie Sue..

 

Someone coined that phrase to sort of match the thread (the porch being the thread), we all hang out on the imaginary porch in our rockers, and the newbees always get to fill up the beverage cooler!
Kind of like the old folks home!!!!

 

No way. Old folks home don't have a porch. No coolers. No beer in the coolers. We never mentioned rocking chairs.

Does that mean that a 911 is a Back Porsche, and a Panamera or a Cayenne is a front Porsche?

Actually my place has both a front porch, covered, with a swing bench, and an open back porch, or deck where my BBQ grill sits.

Well, seriously enough, visitors are welcome, if they can manage to find my place! I tell people I'm so far in the woods I have to pipe in sunshine and fresh air.

 

Nah, Sue, just leave 'em up. That way next year you'll be the first to have your lights up! Mine were up for years until I painted the house. But then I didn't bother to put new ones up. Getting too old for that.

 

too late... took them down last night.... I am going to put up some red, white, and blue rope lights and keep them up
