Yowza Carl, looks like you might get a little of the white stuff like me this weekend. According to the map they showed on the news, Tom might be getting hit much worse then us:eek:. Stay safe my friend (and warm)

Like Mike said Cheech, paying your respects to her is something your doing and not explaining the past to them. Condolences to her family and May she rest in peace.

Still fighting the cold Mike, I got a bit of one started Mondayo_O

How have you been Tom? Looks like the DC Baltimore area is in for a pretty good size snow fall. Stay safe and warm and let someone else shovel the snow so you don't have back issues. Take it easy. Heres the snow fall map they showed for us.

That's the best weather map I've ever seen Ken, definitely puts it into perspective!

Thanks Mike. You are right. But I can just imagine some of those women whispering behind my back. But yeah, they can think what they want, won't bother me. They've probably been gossiping the same old shit for 44 years and it's not gonna change.
The high school I went to was a small private boarding school, so we all knew each other quite well, which is why I am kinda sensitive about what happened.

Ken: When I got up at 05:00 this morning there were still drivers on the road trying to get home from yesterday. Retirement at its best.

My son does the snow removal now.

An inch of snow and school is cancelled. LOL

:pccoffee: Morning S/W/S. I'm in line for the snow too. Gotta make a run this morning to fill up the gas cans.

Cheech, an old mechanic friend of mine once said "fuck 'em all but 6, you need them for pallbearers". Who cares what a bunch of nattering crows say behind your back? If they don't have the spine to say it to your face it doesn't count. Pay your respects, try to make your peace, but please be sure to forgive yourself. Pay it forward.

Thanks all for the thoughts and words regarding my wife. She's doing very well. We go to get the cast cut off and the stitches taken out tomorrow, which she is reallyreallyREALLY looking forward to! I'm glad the snow decided to delay its arrival long enough for us to make the trip too. My household duties have dwindled as she figures out how to do more and more for herself. She's an independent cuss -- one of the reasons I keep her around. ;) I still have plenty to do though. We're hoping she'll be cleared to start putting a bit of weight on the foot so she can ditch the walker, but that may not happen for another few weeks.

Cheech1 this is not original but seems like a good plan to follow:

Don't let the darkness from your past block the light of joy in your present. What happened is done. Stop giving time to things which no longer exist.

    Works for me.

Gary, thanks. It never really bothered me, but then she died, and all kinds of thoughts came into play. Her funeral is going to be a celebration of life, and she wanted a party, so I'm sure I'll be my obnoxious self, and the gossiping broads, well f*#^ em.

Somehow I have to believe she knew you cared and at the end of the day that is all that really matters.

In a day or two the gossipers will return to talking behind each other's back and everything will be back to their normal.

Happy TGIF to all:wave:. Well the news media has done it again:rolleyes:. All this talk about a "blizzard" hitting our area has started a frenzy at the food stores and gas stations:eek:. Lines are long and parking lots full. And with the full moon coming, it seems like more crazy than usual on the road:facepalm:.
:ohsnap: I hope I don't have 2 more weeks of this cold. Hope you kick it soon Mike.
Glad to hear your son does the snow Tom . Tell him to take it easy because they are saying it is going to be a heavy wet snow.

    Be safe.

    Have a good day all.

    Afternoon all:
Looks like we're right on the edge of 5-8" or 12-18" inches of snow. The local forecast is calling for 10-16". :fingerscrossed:

    Welcome Duane!
Pull up a chair on the "geezers" porch, but make sure to fill up the beverage cooler first!

Thank you, hoping I fit in as I was worried there were only younger guys with abilities to use text wording, leaving me in the stone age of rotary dial phones. Still trying to figure out some of the initials being used. AC must mean access cab, or A-C. :)

Hi Duane, welcome. Pull up a chair, cooler's over there. New guy gets to refill it BTW (By The Way). FWIW (For What Its Worth) I have a 2012 ACLB (Access Cab Long Bed) but if you ask me the AC is anything but.

Wife got the cast off today, :woot: Unfortunately it got replaced with a "boot" that looks like a ski boot that goes almost to the knee. At least she can take it off. She also is still non-weight bearing for another 4 weeks. We knew that was going to be the case but wow it seems like a long time now that we're actually living through it. Spirits are good though, we'll see the other side of this and hopefully have some tales to tell.
