Woohoo!!! The Eddie Aikau surf contest is on today, the first time in 8 years to have suitable waves. Google
Quicksilver Eddie, and there's a live stream. (sorry too lazy to post the link)

Traffic on the North Shore is at a standstill, so I won't be going.

    Morning all:
Just saw something interesting, what's next?
Look up "negative interest rates", I couldn't believe what I read. It looks like it's possible for a bank to charge you to keep your money in their bank, are you friggen kidding me!
Well, shouldn't be that surprised, with the interest they're paying, and all the added fees, it's already costing almost everyone that does business with them.
Who said--"A bank is not your friend!"

Hi Carl, yep a lot of banks start to charge fees to maintain accounts that are below a certain amount. After a while the fees consume the account. I think my credit union may even do it.

I had that happen! I left $85 in an account, just to have another account available after I moved my main account to another bank. After maybe 3 years, I went to put the interest in that account and I had something like $83 in the account, they charged me a fee because I was below $100. If I had known that, I would have left $100+ in the account, but they never mentioned about the minimum. I closed the account right then and there!

:woot:Remember April 10th! The price of a stamp "MAY" drop by 2c, time to stock up if that happens. :p

Alright, pics of the reason for a depleted checking account. V-6, manual tranny, tow package. First pic is at my late moms place in Nevada. Went snow camping Saturday afternoon, four miles from home to Bucks Summit on the Plumas Nat'l Forest in Kalifornia, into Bucks Lake Wilderness. Could not see where my place is from the campsite due to the trees. Snow shoed in a few miles, took about 1 hour 45 minutes, tough in the soft snow, a breeze coming out this AM due to I was able to carry my 'shoes and took a couple shortcuts that are easily seen from above, not so when going up.

Last year, there was only one vehicle at the summit with those tracks, now, another Jeep and a GMC/Chevy. That's as far as the county plows in the winter, leaving the few more miles to Bucks Lake, the couple resorts, seasonal homes and beyond for snowmobiling. I sold my old sled two years ago. We used to do some night riding in the winter, great fun.

I listed my nice 07 Civic on CL for $7100, two offers so far, $5,000 and $6,000. Get real! Models with way more miles and even a year older are priced higher. Just ignored those replies. I had a bunch of emails for my '93 Toy pu, one guy even offered $500 and one who I thought was interested, failed to show twice.

I've been going through the same thing trying to sell a Brake Buddy for my dad. Lots of lowballers and would-be thieves, not much real interest. Finally a guy got in touch who was thrilled to find it and paid full asking price. Be patient!

Puppies and chili may not be a good idea! :D

Yup, be patient Duane. Can always come down a little, but no need to give away.
You really want a laugh, go see what a dealer will give you for it! It' possible that used car dealers are making offers trying to make a quick grand or two!

My '93 Toy, without them looking at it, dealer would give me $500, asked $1100 on CL, sold for $1000 cash. Low ballers came it at $500. Not!!
Yep, only listed the Civic last night.

Good luck on selling the car Duane. Right buyer will come along.

My late dogs were pretty good about leaving food alone, especially while backpacking. I used to make a game of treats by placing something on my knee or foot and make them wait a few seconds then say OK. Good way to teach them what is ok to do.
Thank y'all for the kind words. Got an email from a feller in OR regarding my CL offering on my Civic, over half a day drive down here, cash in hand, my asking price. Called him, waiting now for a confirmation call back. He's a few years older than I am. His son wrecked his car, a older Civic, got his insurance check already. Fingers crossed. That will pay for a lot of gas and insurance on the Taco, since it would be costly to keep both now that I'm retiring. Car insurance is a grand a year for the Civic. Crunched numbers, having only the Taco would be $200 a year more if I only had it and drove 15,000 miles a year in it. If less miles, then I would save on fuel expenses and be ahead. Working out of town, I put 18,000 miles a year between the two vehicles. Should drive less after March. I have a '09 Kawa KLR 650 for a grocery getter or wind in my face ride.

These are the only ones I use. We have like 30 cars on these. Never an issue. It charges and then goes into maintenance mode. Btw my battery was less than 80% charged when I did it the other day. I have it so I hook up through the grill and have a quick disconnect. Comes with the charger. I love these.
