    Evening all,
I hope everyone faired the hurricane ok, I was off playing. I just got back from a backpacking trip in Yosemite NP, 5 hour drive from home, spent 4 nights in the backcountry. I stopped in where I retired from in Nevada on my way there. All the girls were happy to see me, got hugs all around and some seconds. :) My old boss said they had two openings in the Dept. I worked in. I said I'd be interested. In 40 years. :) In Yosemite, I met a bunch of folks at Clouds Rest where I camped my first night. Great views from that height, everyone was hanging out for a few hours, mostly us young folks. :) I got to meet a young lady from Australia and two from Poland. Cool. The Aussie sent me some pics via email, I'll have to go to the library in town to view them.

Yosemite NP Duane, never been there but from pics. it is beautiful.

Finally made it out archery hunting this morning, saw 3 tails and parts of backs going through the high huckleberry bushes off to my left. One was a doe for sure, probably a doe with 2 fawns, looked like all small deer from what I could tell, at least I saw something.

The river could dry up. :)
I hand dug half a wheel barrel of fingerling spuds before the rain started here. Good eating. I was also able to get two stoves working correctly again this weekend, required the use of a blow torch and a smaller propane torch to unsolder parts, repair them then resolder back on. Not skilled at it, but these are not highly collectible camping stoves. I still have one more that needs silver soldering as the burner is crackedm, it is a bit more collectible. That takes even more heat and special silver solder. To keep other soldered on parts in place, you have to apply wet bits of cloth or paper towel to those areas to act as heat sinks so things don't start falling off. Not good.
Raked leaves the other day to get a start on more to come down. About 4 wheel barrels worth so far. The storm that came in has not dumped as much rain as originally forecast, but was windy and rainy tonight when I went out to the garage for a bit. Could hear stuff hitting the roof, checked, it is all there still. Have a good evening, morning.

Really???? Of all the cars to insult me with you had to say that one.
Been busy. Between trying to get ready for winter, racing, working, working, and working. Well, you get the picture. Putting the toys to sleep next weekend so had to do some maintenance.

That Yugo could fetch a fortune someday on eBay. :) Especially if it is still able to be pushed.

Just got done installing a new 3rd brake light in the cap of the Tacoma. Priced one at a cap dealer for $45 + 6% tax, had already checked them out on the puter at $26, came home and ordered it off the puter. I had bought the cap from that dealer, and the light that I just installed is exactly the same brand as the one that was on the cap. I think that light had already been replaced though since there were splice connectors up near the light, I bought it used. Those splices are now plug in connectors just in case I need to replace it again.
    $20 in the pocket; I like that, it's a game!!!! :D

    Evening Sue!
They start hitting when "THEY" are ready, this has been a bad year so far for catching walleyes but the river usually gets pretty good from now into winter.

    Hi Susan.
Sad note, I made it in time to see one of my uncles in Minnesota last month, got news from one of my aunts that my uncle passed away yesterday. He looked pretty good I thought when I visited, I'd been told that he had little time before my trip to see all my aunts and uncles. He was active in the community, coached Little League for years.

Sorry for your loss, Duane. :(

Just back from a quick long-weekend trip to Kentucky and The Bourbon Trail. Put new struts and shocks on my '96 BMW Z3 so we took that down to give it a workout. The weather cooperated so we got to drop the top most of the trip.

Back to work and reality today!
