    Evening all:
Deer season closed today, no deer! :(
Now it's on to the untrusty flintlock in two weeks. Worse part is when one finally stands in front of you and the darn thing doesn't fire!

Carl, you could just come on down to Alabama. Deer season ends Feb. 10th. If you want you can use semi auto center fires also.

Also, if you want you can use inline or bolt action muzzle loaders WITH scopes in Alabama.

    Morning all:
Should just start going to "ANY" neighboring state to Pa; NY, New Jersey, W Virginia, and Ohio still have deer! I have an old buddy going on pension next year who hunted NY, NJ, and Ohio, and always got deer. He and I both hunted NJ years ago, and he and I both hunted Maine together for awhile.
PITB though to go away for a week or two with critters in the house, when I just had outside critters I would get the neighbor to feed them. Think when something happens to the inside pets there will be no more, but they may outlive me! Also had a buddy come back from a hunting camp in North Central Pa, he saw plenty of deer. That area doesn't have the hunting pressure and the developments built along the gamelands and state forrest land like we do.
Still enough deer in our area, but most of them live in developments or in big tracks of private property.
Have to laugh, have the center fire semis (can't use here; maybe next yr.), numerous accurate rifles, scoped inline, good scoped crossbow, and now need to depend on a flintlock to get a deer!

Hey, you can go skiing in the morning, walk through rain forests after, and finish up surfing in 80* weather.

Oooookay, it's time to take this to the wise bunch. Hopefully one of you has been there, done that.

I separated my shoulder a little over 2 weeks ago. Specifically I tore the acromioclavicular (AC) ligament. Orthopod tells me surgery outcomes are worse than just leaving it to figure itself out, which agrees with what I've read online. Pain has mostly subsided but I dare not lift anything of significance on that side - my dominant side, naturally! That's fine with me, I'll be patient and let it sort itself out. And the fact that I'll always have a hump in that shoulder -- I never really had much hope for being a shoulder model anyway.

But here's the thing. When I am working at a computer the shoulder goes 'click-clack-click-clack-click' almost the whole time. Maybe it's more of a 'thunk-thunk-thunk-thunk-thunk'. I'm pretty sure it's those two bones, formerly held together by the now-torn ligament, bonking into one another. Is this normal, do I put up with it until enough scar tissue forms to hold them together? Or should I be seeking another opinion? Because I type at a keyboard for a living, and it's starting to bug me.

Another opinion. Your in a bad position that's why it's doing that. A different job with different position and you could rehab yourself. I would at least talk to someone else.

Morning Dave, sorry about your shoulder. Like Mike said, talk to someone else. Why go through the rest of your life with a bum shoulder.

Thanks guys. I did a fair amount of research and the consensus is that surgery causes more problems than it solves. I'm less concerned about that than I am about the interim period, between now and when it finally stabilizes. Mike, I'm afraid that working at a keyboard is part and parcel of my value as an employee, so I'm stuck. Plus I view this as a temporary situation. I *could* try typing one-handed though!

What I was saying is if you weren't working at a keyboard then you could adjust your actions to help heal and rehab it yourself. Being at a keyboard and that angle like you said your stuck.
I know a couple of people that change height and distance from the board. Maybe a support brace to keep it in place ???

On Friday 12/2, I was informed by management that due to re-structuring, my position is being eliminated. Wonderful news, especially at this time of the year. This being a small town, word got around pretty quick, and by the following Thursday I had a new job offer. Sooo, I'm changing careers again, at a time when I'm thinking about retirement.
Some say that bad things sometimes happen for a reason, and things are much better afterwards. I think it really applies here.

This experience reaffirmed my beliefs: Never burn your bridges, and value your friends.

On a positive note I test drove an Avalon and liked it a lot. I could live with one for 10 to 12 years.
