I would say to get off the grass but I know you are a CAPS fan so I will let it slide.

Others may not be as kind. ;)

We were using the internet, then BBS boards, when you were still in diapers.

The days before computers and cable and cell phones... kids could go out side and play. They didn't sit inside all day. We were outside making forts and riding bikes :pout: (although I do like my computer for certain things... like TW)

    NO sliding :D

    Oh, and  morning all

Amen to that! It was us old farts who mastered the use of computers for military application back in the 70s and beyond that gave these youngsters all of the technology they take for granted now.

I started with the 60's vintage FADAC computer and then the Army began to use that devastatingly capable TI99. The rest is history.

Try leading a 100 vehicle convoy in pitch dark and heavy fog along roads in the middle of nowhere without your GPS - we used these things called maps and hung out of the doors of vehicles and helicopters to see our way. IFR = I follow roads.

I liked the IFR Mark...I have to remember that one...When I was stationed in Pennsylvania the engineers were working on many different projects that our military as well as civilians use...they designed the night vision system, remote control drones and different designs for parachute for different purposes. The astronauts were trained in the centifuge there(it is now a museum)...those were the days...Ken

At least they aren't lined up getting some friendly fire:eek:...It's time to start carrying...did you hear about the mom that shot and killed the robber that was pistol whipping her son in Philly. Thre pistol she used was legal and registered...No charges were filed against her and we don't have to support the slime she killed in prison for 30 years...It's just a shame about the soldier returning from Iraq only to be robbed and shot back home...hope they catch the sob that did it and they should bring back public lynching for crimes like that...Ken

HA! it really screwed the firing squad up when it posted. they were taking friendly fire. I must have deleated it right as you were posting.

just went to posts before I got here. beautiful pics. of glacier, and sunset.

ALSO: #68 (jim)- 283, punched to 301, W/trips. saw many of these, most had a 4-brl. when I mention this the younguns I get a  look and say you mean 302. then gotta explain that it was a 283 bored .060. usually don't get into power packs, or the 270 (2-4's) or 283 hp.(fuelie).

I can really get them  when I mention the 427 ford.-low, medium, & hi.risers, tunnel port, SOHC, & DOHC. even the BB chevy-HP, SHP,& HD. most don't know what a 426 MAX-WEDGE is. HOLY CHIT! us old motorheads are becoming the historians. :D

Watched my dad build that thing in the back room of a gas station. 283 punched out to 301. Found a real clean 54 chev 2 door with a bad motor for 150 $. took out alot of sheet tin off it all the way to the wheel well. Put in the 301 w 3-2's and a 4 speed, then put in a upside down tube axel to make it look right. It was bad ass from day one, at3k rpm and dump it the tires would jump over a coke bottle. Dad did not drove it long when a 58 vet. of a man down the street went up for sale, he gave me the keys to the 54. At age 16 I had the fastest car at school. I put 2-4's on it and it was a killer. Miss the old days bad when gear heads were everywhere... Jim:)

In my neighborhood we all knew each other, gearheads that is, because we helped each other out. I miss the days when we worked on our cars without any time constraints.
