    Looks like we peaked at 14".
    24"+ Mark :eek:, looks like you will need bigger equipment.
    Stay safe everyone.

    Only the digging out part, other than that snow is fun. Kids also love to play in the snow. you don't know what you're missing! :rolleyes:

    Oh I lived in it for 45 years, in all of Northern New England and Massachusetts at one point or another.

    Been here for 26 years now and miss:
    • clean crisp air (Florida has a permanent musty smell, though you do get used to it and we live by the beach so it's minimised);
    • real seasons, we only have 2-1/2 (1/4 nice, then 1/2 hot, then 1 friggin' HOT followed by another 1/2 of just plain hot, and another 1/4 of nice--we are having the first nice now);
    • that first snowfall of the year;
    I do not miss scraping and shoveling, or having my cars rot out from under me--no sir, nor one bit. If friggin' HOT is the price I must pay then so be it...

    Never been able to get reloads to work in mine, throwing the fun switch to single does ok. Can't send it out from commiefornia for repair as once it is transferred, I can't get it transferred back.... My 1911's and the 2011 run them just fine so I know it's not my the loader or my technic.
    Going outside to enjoy the sunshine and head to the desert later to see the bloom.

    I'm free! :yay: Neighbor just plowed my driveway open, path is shoveled to the garage, mailboxes are accessible, and shoveled a spot for the garbage can.
    Try to get the stuff the plow pushes down by the road ASAP, with the salt mixed in and cold weather it gets pretty solid and is hard to remove.

    How are you making out with getting food to the dorms? 24"of wet snow can be quite a problem moving.

    Be careful out there in the cold Mike. Weather like this I wish the kids were still home to do the driveway(if I could've gotten them away from the TV).

    Unless it means shoveling it Carl:laughing:.

    Sounds like you have a good neighbor Carl.

    It would take me about 300 hours to get there so I'm sorry I can't help.

    Wow! You are getting worse than we did. It was a howler but we probably stopped somewhere around 14-16". I'm leaving it until tomorrow because they're predicting some followup and, well, because I can.

    I just walked down our hill to my mother-in-laws place - snow depth ranged from my upper thighs to above my waist. I have a 30" inseam so we probably have averaged about 30" by now. I had to clear her satellite dish. The walk back up the hill was a killer.

    Ken - we gave the dorm residents go bags last night with food for today. We have public safety officers in each dorm checking on them. We will have our cafeteria open at noon tomorrow for them. It is rough - streets around the college have not been cleared yet.

    I let him use some of my property on the other side of the road that is adjacent to his house, he better be a good neighbor! :D
    Two passes and I was open good enough to get in and out, probably took about 3 minutes.

    At least here in Kalifornia we don't get the high winds except over high passes/ridges. My mom left Minnesota for California after High School.

    GOOGLE "Fat Leonard Indictment".
    Interesting read about a US Admiral and a bunch of others being charged with corruption. :mad:
    First time I heard of this, you would think it would be all over the news.

    Hopefully, they filled the to go bags with enough to hold them over until tomorrow.
    You and the missus stay safe and warm.

    As El Presidente said, drain the swamp. Those Navy big wigs fit the bill if guilty.

    Hey Ken.
    Did ok.
    Went out 4 times to keep up.
    Had a normal amount for the final push.
    Didn't loose power. Wierd. I'll lose power for hours in calm weather. Lol
    We got about 20"
    Could have been a lot worse considering.
    But I'm ready for all this to be over.

    Glad you made out okay. We really got off easy. Only 4" to 6" . They got the roads cleared pretty fast which made it easier to get around yesterday(took the wife to work). The service manager(drives the plow) and sales staff(shovel and car cleaners) at the dealer I drive for were out in force clearing the drives and cleaning the cars. Advil cocktails were the orders of the day for them.
