Hes now showing his true pus self and today he spammed my messages with how his small business is for him and his son. How maybe we now can talk about some sort of refund, all because I left review with pics that in his mind is 600$ work. its pathetic but funny, i would post txt here but i dont think thats allowed.

Bro this isnt facebook, we don't need to see you arguing back and forth with some random body shop guy.

You did zero research into what it would actually cost to fix it properly and now you have buyer's remorse over your little 600 dollars

Who cares if the boss (or whoever) stupidly told you it could be "fixed" for 600. If you had gotten more estimates - and talked to them about what you want - you would have learned that 600 is not nearly enough to do it properly

You went with the first and only estimate and rushed into it. Sorry but you've got no one to blame but yourself.

I wouldn’t have paid $600 to fix that, even if done correctly. Scratches on a tailgate are just par for the course.
That said I’d expect to have paid $50 plus expenses for that work.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
cost have less to do with it compared to the quality of work done. Lots of places charge more and deliver just as bad of product. Heck any Toyota dealership service dept is guilty of this as well as many high end brands.

the lesson in this is check out the results of a body shop’s work before taking your vehicle there. Not the price, but what they actually do. Otherwise you’ll just pay more to be just as disappointed.

Anybody can just throw out a price over the phone, that's easy. The question is what are you getting for that price?

You have to talk to the people at the shop. Tell them what you are expecting. Are you OK with just smoothing it over and painting it quickly? Do you want the dent completely removed and the paint blended professionally?

Some people out there are looking for a quick cheap fix. They don't want to spend thousands on a dent. There's body shops out there that can do a quicky fix and keep it cheap.

Some people want a more thorough job. There's body shops out there that can do that too

600 is just a number, he didn't look around and compare that number to anything so he thought he knew what he was getting.. but he didn't

honestly if i were OP i would have just ordered a $12 tube of touch up paint from the dealer. hit the tailgate with some alcohol and used a pencil eraser to lightly scuff up the edges.

would look 9000% better than that for less than twenty bucks counting his time.

Don't leave out the local District Attorney and state Attorney General's offices. A letter from either one, both if you are lucky, can cause a sphincter reaction to the business owner easily worth $600.
