I saw The Rolling Stones a couple months ago. Keith Richards should be studied by science!

I guess if you value your time at zero, you’re correct.

I guess what I'm saying is, if u got some enjoyment out of working on your own vehicle, when would u decide to partake or not to? Like when are u off the clock? Sure u get paid X amount an hour, but do u figure that as 24/7 or like 8-7, free time only?

Well if the dealer is correct, it's about 450$ an hour.

No truck = no job for me, not paying someone else to do something I can = priceless.
I cant really afford to have my truck held hostage at the dealer for 3 to 8 hours for something that should only be 1.5 hours at most.

But everything else, I mod/change/or fab myself.

The suspension fab work was a little too much for me to bite off at the moment(both time and skill) but I’m happy to support another local company.

Not at all. That's why I said some people prefer to have maintenance done. Wasnt trying to imply one person was better than the other. Guess I came across wrong. :hattip:

I’m not getting my point across and I really don’t care too spend more time on it as it’s not a big deal. :) I make more $ than it costs to pay a mechanic. So, financially speaking, it costs me more to do my own work.

I get it. Time = money. You’re letting everyone know that in your business, which you own, you charge more for your time than the 100+ Per hour the dealer charges for labor.
If you spent the time you could be working(whenever you want since you own your own business and charge more for your time than the 100+ Per hour the dealer charges for labor.) working on your own truck, it would not make financial sense.
When you factor in the free coffee, donuts and WiFi at the dealer, plus the write off because you own your own business and charge more for your time than the 100+ Per hour the dealer charges for labor, it’s better for you to pay the dealer to do it.

Your use of the word bro is all I need to know about you champ. Also I am the hammer and don’t give a F what goes down in these threads with the keyboard warriors. Stay on topic... it’s about a $600 brake job not my F150.

Years ago they used to say that if Bill Gates stopped and took 1 seconds to pick up a $100 bill he'd be losing money. Because he makes more than that anyway. Took me awhile to understand.
