60k Service/Transmission Fluid Change - Only Genuine Toyota WS?

    Called the dealer today with same question. He said for my truck, 2010 Tacoma, Toyota doesn't recommend flushing since metal fragments can get flushed back into the transmission. Said that they recommend a full drain and fill. Since it's a sealed transmission, they just hook it to a machine and it does it. Quoted $120 for the service. Does this sound right?

    There are all sorts of opinions about what to use, but just as or more importantly - do it WAY before 100K.

    I know...some guy here posted recently that he has around 200K on his truck and the fluid has never been changed.

    If you plan to keep your ride for awhile - change the transmission fluid every 20K-25K and ignore the dealers BS.

    They tell you lifetime because

    a. most people trade-in their vehicles at or B4 100K
    b. an extension of a....their employees have no clue how to do it properly
    and they don't want the hassle of dealing with the aftermath of that.
