i know this is going to get some groans from the masses, but here it goes. It’s been raining like a bitch here in NJ. I needed an oil change and figured I’d just go to the dealer. I told the advisor I wanted 60K service and use Mobil 1 for my oil change. He tells me, “You know that’s going to be a $100.00 oil change.” I said ok so what? That’s all they did was change the oil. They “checked” the transfer case. I didn’t need a fluid change. No mention of spark plugs or anything. Did I not get a thorough service? I can do all this stuff myself. I just didn’t want to sit out in the rain and do it.

You know when you are laying on the ground under the truck draining the oil... you don’t get rained on right?

No you did not get a proper service you only got an oil change.

What did your invoice say from the dealer? It will tell you exactly what was completed.

Your owners manual lists what a 60k service should be. There will be a chart for what they call normal and severe driving. If you’re comfortable doing a trans flush it’d be a good time to do that if you’re auto trans.

You did not get a thorough service for that price. Me personally, I would have waited until the weather improved and then done all of it myself. These trucks won't explode if they go a K or two past the interval time. That's what I love about my 2nd gen. Super easy to work on for 99% of what will need to be done. And even better, if I can't get around to a required maintenance item for a week or four, the truck will be just fine.

That's likely the going rate for synthetic oil and half an hour of labor at dealer rates.

I expected the $100.00 for the Mobil 1 oil change. I also expected the dealer to be a little more thorough on the interval service. Fuck em, I’ll do it myself from now on. Especially since the weather is getting nice.
Thank you everyone for your replies. Even the sarcasm. I love it.

60 K on a 2015 needs engine air filter, Plugs and check fluids inspections etc. You are lucky here they try to up-sell every thing in the book like they have a kid in college! Luckily I print out the Toyota recommended stuff and refuse anything else unless it broke.
