Dips I have to go moderately slow, below 18mph for sure, coming from the sport, it feels "tighter", but not considerably "better". I am looking for a softer ride, but having the ability to hit dips that fast and still feel great are a plus, might still swing that way.

Yea unless it's the stock spring causing that roughness the 6112 will be amazing for you.

I think the assembly was about 90, I could dig up the actual invoice. Most other places I saw that offered assembly charged about $150. And if you use your own top plate, you can save that money but do you have the spring compressor and what not to do it yourself? I do most work on my own. But coil Springs aren’t something I really want to mess with. There is a high potential for injury/damage there.

If you bring it all to a shop to disassemble your stocks and reassemble the 6112s, they also charge like 50-100 bucks. Plus the labor on your truck to get it all out; unless you take it apart at home, and bring the parts in a different vehicle so they can swap the top plates, then bring it home and reinstall. It all adds up. 90 bucks for new top plates and assembly is a huge time and money saver IMO.

I did a lot of research, I feel like I got a good price for it all. I just want to pull them out of the box, Install, Drive down to alignment shop. Lift Done.

Ya that really is a good deal if you got a new top plate and assembly.

I do have spring compressors and impact gun, so I'm set there.

For install, once you unbolt the sway bars, are you keeping everything else bolted together (UCA, LCA, Spindel)? I saw that you can use a pry bar to push the LCA down to fit the new assembled 6112 in. Let me know thanks

It has been a while since I have done this, but I believe you need to pull the spindle from the upper control arm to get the strut out. You want to make sure the compression is out of the struts before removing them, don’t hurt yourself. There are a ton of write ups here on how to remove and replace these struts/coilovers.

If I don’t go with a spacer in the back and go with a leaf pack or add a leaf I’ll have to go higher in the front to at least 1.5” ? I didn’t think a 1/2 spacer would make the vehicle ride any different.

I’m considering this same setup but I want to go with medium Dakar’s out back. I’m running a cap and sitting pretty much level possibly 1/4” lower in the back. Will I get enough out of the front to sit level or a slight rake. Would like an 1.5” or 2” all together.

Expedition one front bumper, Engo 9000lbs winch, dual battery set up, Radflo complete suspension lift , Front: 2.5" Shocks, 650lb Eibach coil springs, light racing UCA's, Rear: Radflo 2.0 rear shocks, All pro lower control arm links, Toyo Open Country ATII LT285/75/16E Wheels: Level 8 Bully Pro Discount Tire Size: 16x8.5 6-139.7 Offset 6 Etc.......

I went with aal, if I had to do over again I would go with the heavy duty. I have a tool box that sits between the wheel well with about 150 lbs in it, also carry 300 lbs from time to time of materials.

Found this the other day - hope it helps

The "Medium Duty" leaf pack will provide approx. 2" lift while supporting 0 lbs - GVW while the "Heavy Duty" leaf pack will provide approx. 2" lift while supporting a constant load of 660 lbs.

Thanks I’ve read that too. I just hope it don’t make the truck ride like a buckboard wagon:devil:

Anyone running heavy Dakar’s out back??? How’s the ride???

Old thread resurrected, but man these things are popular! Either these aren't on Bilstein's priority list or every Tacoma around the world are ordering these! LOL! Seem to be back ordered everywhere.

There was a problem at the manufacturing plant. Last I heard they were supposed to be caught up and ship out end of June, but I still haven’t heard back about my order placed in March. I just cancelled my order for now. I’ll put my focus elsewhere until this is resolved.

Ordered 6112’s... thinking 5112’s in rear.

What advantage does medium Dakar kit provide? About to pull the trigger on it.

What clip setting? Are UCAs and AAL necessary? I was reading the driver side front needed to be one setting higher or just get a 3/8 or 1/4 in spacer I can’t remember.

I set mine to 5/4 for an extra 1" lift.
