Hello, I've been on the fence about whether I'm going to want 650# or 700# coils for my 3rd gen dual cab short bed TRD off road.

I would like for the ride to be somewhat firm not but punishing when daily driving in the city but also don't want it bottoming out super easy

    My planned payload is.
    - body armor hiline front bumper
    - 10k winch
    - RCI steel sliders
    - full aluminum skids package, including A Arms .
    - cab mounted roof rack (usually unloaded)
    -(eventually) second AGM battery

I feel like that planned payload is pushing the limits of the 650# which would probably start to sag after a month or two, and then the AGM battery would push me into the range for the 700# for sure but I've also read that the 700# are too harsh unless you're completely loaded with an Arb bumper and such.

    Thanks

I've got 6112s and initially had 650lb spring with pelfreybilt aluminum front bumper, RCI skids and sliders (steel) and it was not enough. I knew I was going to add a rear bumper and a winch too. Warn xeon on the front and warfab steel bumper on the back. 700lb feels great to me. It does not feel harsh, and I've been riding this way for over 2 years.

Just an FYI Bilstein themselves recommends against using 700lb springs on 6112s, they say they are not valved properly for it. I'm sure it's fine as in it will work just fine, but something to consider.

650 springs unless your really heavy up front don’t go 700 IMO.

A consideration here may be timing/time horizon for all your mods.
Personally, I am on my 3rd coilspring set as I added mod weight over time of building it. No way would I have wanted 650/660/700 lb springs until after hanging the bumper and winch.

    Some stuff
Running 6112s and 650lb coils, w/o sway bar.
5160 rear with Alpro Expedition leafs.
SSO winch bumper, w/ winch(synthetic cable)
RCI sliders, and full aluminum skids.
    Steel rear bumper, tire swingout,
    Cap, and toolbox inside.
    Riding on 255/85s.
Very happy, and wouldn't change a thing.

I was originally intending to run 700lb coils. I had many people, including vendors steering me away. So, I took their advise.

I have basically the same setup (but steel SSO bumper) with 650s and the front feels and looks pretty saggy after a couple years, I have a set of 700lb springs for the 6112 I haven't installed bc everybody says it's not recommended etc etc. I don't have mine adjusted to the highest setting (one notch lower) so was going to try that next but it sounds like you are good with the 700s. What notch do you have yours set at? I might just swap the springs instead to see

I have had the 700s on my 6112s for the last few years and I don't find them to be overly stiff, they do take the harder hits just fine. One thing I do know though is that they top out, fairly hard sometimes over certain types of bumps.
I have a camper, drawers, sliders, front stump bumper and winch, armor etc so I'm heavy to begin with. I started with the 600s and they sagged a lot right from the start

I ended up ordering the 650# as my vendor said while the 700# will "work" with the 6112s, they're really intended for the 8112s and the 6112's aren't really valved for them.

I'm planning to go with perch 10, 8 with a 3/8" tophat spacer, assuming it will settle somewhere between 2.05-2.25 due to weight.
