Alright the biggest question of all, I have a 3rd gen TRD sport pretty much stock besides 265/70/17 tires on methods 405's. I want to upgrade my suspension because its due, I am at 50k and what better way to spend the Trump Bucks. I want my truck to be level with a max 1.5 inch lift. What would be better the 6112/5160 on notch #4/3 with 600 lbs spring or the 5100s?

Keep in mind this is my daily driver mostly highway up and down the 5 in Cali with a few off road adventures. Also may not matter but what does the rake do when lifting, Im not mechanically inclined even though I plan on installing this myself or have a fellow TW member help out.

I understand that but i plan on adding sliders in the future and I rather do the whole buy once and cry once. I also have an upcoming across country trip thats being planned out so ill have some gear in the rear.

Long term I want to install a rear steal bumper. Mainly I use my truck for long camping trips so I want it to be able to take on some rough terrain but im not a rock crawler for sure. Not going to be pulling much either usually by the time I have everything loaded up its around 300lbs. I want to keep it at less then $1500 thats why I thought the 6112 would be a good route but then again they are pricey for my books.

Why do you think 5160 in the rear? Whats the advantage of it? Also what AAL would you recommend, if i where to go this route. For UCA id probably get Total Chaos

Hope you don’t mind, but I am going to add a question onto this that should fit right in:

What are the ride quality differences between the 6112s and the 5100s? Anyone had real world experience w/ both?

6112s have a bigger shaft and body, pretty sure they are just all around better than the 5100s. Ride difference? no clue but they look way more stout.

Right, I know they are a larger shock body and can take more abuse. I was just curious how much different the ride is. The 6112s definitely look like they can take more abuse. I’m pretty sure I am sold on spending the extra $$ on the 6112s.
