Quick question looking into the 6112’s want a 2 inch lift and I’ve read that the 5 and 6 notch achieves that, wouldn’t that be pre loading the coils causing a stiff ride and pre load is what you don’t want? Still learning thanks for the responses in advance.

I’ve got 6112 up front and 5160s in the rear with an icon AAL.

My 6112s are set at 6 on the driver side for the lean and 5 on the passenger side. The ride is incredible, I don’t have that awful nose dive or bottoming out on potholes or off road trails. The lift is about 2-2.5. I am super pleased

I also have Timbren front bump stops which I NEVER hit with the 6112s. And trust me I drive my truck hard intentionally. I may switch out for the new blue super bumps. I have not tried the timbren rears yet cause I’m lazy on doing my u-bolt flip kit.

I see a lot of varying lift numbers on the 6112 setups, some people claim 2 inches all the way to 2.5ish on the 6/5 setting why is that? Does the ride quality change at all if you would lessen the pre load like 5/4 or is the ride just what it is at any clip with the 600 pound springs?

IMO every truck is different. Ride quality is very subjective also. For me super stoked on set up. 600lb coils for me settled around 2” or a little under. If I plan on more weight up front I’ll switch to 650 coils. Bilstein are digressive as well. Some like the ride some complain. Also if you run E Rated tires that will change the ride also IMO. I had 5100’s on stock springs no ride change from 3rd setting to 5th setting Just saying.

    Good Luck
