So was just about to put a new set of rubber on my truck(09 access cab sport 62k miles on it) when i started to here a vibration that wasnt too nice sounding to say the least. so went to my mechanic and he told me my driver side rear bearing was going. Have many of you taco owners out there come across this problem? it just seems a bit premature for me i have owned a few trucks and never had issues with bearings before. Luckily i found out that i have a extended warranty that covers it so it only cost me $50 for the deductible.
So my dealer also gave me a free car which conveniently was 2011 access cab V6 SR5 4X4 it was nice to have a tacoma as a loaner. basically my truck turned puke green for a couple of days. it actually felt a bit peppier then my truck and didnt notice any ticking noise like mine. but i still like my sport package a lot better then the SR5 package.

Alright so puke green might not be the best way to describe the color but it is still a hideous color in my opinion.

Mine went out at 83k. The passenger's side was completely shot and the driver's was starting to go. I replaced both of them.

I think I'm starting to lose my drivers side. It sounds like the brake pad is slapping up and down at low speeds. If I step on the brake a little it stops.

Sound like a bearing to you guys? Or is it maybe just the pads grabbing a little and slapping?

    I am at 100k

Wondering if rear ones would be covered by Drivetrain warranty sine the rear end IS part of the drivetrain. The front on my prerunner would be considered suspension/steering only, due to it being 2wd. I'm fairly certain the front ones would be on me to replace. Not hoping to have to anytime soon tho. At 83k now...........

I helped Fred replace both fronts on his 06 SGB DC Sport. It was the second time for the pass side.

I second that 150,000 on mine and i am replacing them just because i feel it is a wise idea, the driver side bearing is starting to sound a little funny on mine.
