Cool I'll get in touch with Ryan then. I just ordered my new CB (Cobra 75 WX ST) and brand new antenna (Firestik 4' w/ tuneable tip) and when I do the install I want to make sure I do it right. I just removed my existing setup and sold it to another member. I did the install on his truck legit, but it was kinda half fast done on my truck and didn't work very well. Just wanna take my time with the new setup and do it right. Once this is successful, then my HAM setup will be done in February probably.

No problem. I spent hours upon hours today doing research about antennas and frequencies and wave length and ground planes and all kinds of radio stuff. Let's just say this CB setup is gonna be super legit! And a lot pertains to Ham antennas as well so I'll gladly help. You'd be really surprised how many different types of coax antenna cable their are and they all appear the same with the same connectors, but really they make a massive difference. Don't worth, I got this. But just so you know im leaving on January 4th at like 3am to NY and won't be back till the 12th late at night so it'll have to get done either before the 3rd or after the 13th. And I start work again in February maybe end of January so my free time is running out. Just let me know when

I had a feeling too. Was it the water getting inside?

    Welcome!

I think their are loose wires in the light it self. Because when even going off roading i was blowing fuses. Both trips to Lytle creek and Cleghorn i blew fuses, with no weather like rain. I get my ham Dec 27 and i leave to Tahoe from Jan 1 -7 to go skiing.

Yeah, we just stopped by the Ranger Station on the way to the trail. The fire permit is free, you just need to fill out your name, address, and how long you plan to stay. We ended up staying at YP #11 because it was too dark by the time we got there and I was having a hard time navigating through the dark.

The campsite had frost and we were close enough to the snow to walk and play around in it.

It should go without saying, but you should definitely bring your own protection, plenty of firewood (I brought my Mr. Heater and 15 lb. propane tank...which was a lifesaver when I had to give up my 0 degree sleeping bag to my little cousin because his sleeping bag was a POS), and other supplies...just in case.

    Here's a few more shots...
