Yeah, just enough to not work. Like 1/4" or less if I'm not mistaken

So I may get grilled for even posting this, but there is a 4.7 Tundra motor sitting in my shop right now with a bent rod in it...was considering the cost/effort of tearing it down, slowly putting forged internals in it, porting and polishing the heads, possibly changing out the valvetrain, and seeing what it would take to swap it into a 2nd gen.

Wyatt says it's basically plug and play, with a new bell housing. I'd probably be ok with some 18" 700lbs springs on my kit as far as suspension goes...only thing that could definitely stop me is the legality of it since it's from a 2005 and mines a 2010.

Thoughts? Just in the research state right now, it'll probably never happen though. And I know the asshat comments are coming, so try to surprise me.

Do it. All you need is that bell housing, some 4runnerfor motor mounts, a little driveshaft work and some electrical work.

Its a sheeeiitload matt, you could be caged or LT'd for that money. If it was that plug and play I would've put one in forsure haha. From Wyatts PM a while back:

"It's actually easier to swap from the tundra than it is from the 4runner because the runner has so many different systems on it.
You need to find one of the same year or newer and you'll need the 4runner v8 motor mounts and radiator. The wiring is the hardest because you'll need to swap the computers, the gas pedals, and a bunch of relays and the fuse box in the Engine bay not to mention the engine wiring harness. The altenator will be on the opposite side so you'll need to extend those wires. You'll need a bell housing and torque converter from the v8 as well. There is a ton to these swaps and its going to take some time and patience to get it some right."

And Hiatt..why're you getting a race kit?

Because Lsk is giving me an absolutely insane deal on it. They basically just want to show the tacoma community what they can do. All said and done, it won't cost me a dime :D plus the rear end will be coming along next year.

I'll consider it over the next month or so. I would like to LT the rear soon.

Oh and Rylee and I and his friend are going to Lytle Creek today around 12 if anybody wants to join us. He's testing his rear end, and I'm testing the front.

First of I painted my truck Satin flat black,.... well faded satin flat black lol, it has 5100s up front and J66's as well as billy 5150s in the rear, 285/ 75/16 Falcon wild peak A/T, Axis regulators painted satin black, with a tan rings! brush bar with 30 in led light bar , Custom rear Bumper, Straight Pipe. Led Hi/Low, and led fog lights, Flat Black Interior!
Yes lot of work... but the fact that the motor is a 05 and you are a 2010 will be hard to do... if you want to do it. I would try to get the 4.6 V8. Its the same motor but more power and all of them are in the new tundras(2007-2013). And in my thoghts you mite need a biger rearend... more power from the motor you mite want to do a 9" rearend so you can put the power down. Just my thoghts you don't have to.

I had to buy it after the first time I saw it. :anonymous: It's too funny!
You have demon posters on your bedroom ceiling. :p

Turns out we got some cool video from yesterday's run.
Also found cool video from the Pismo run earlier this year. I recognize RJAllDay and a cool jump when the camera was attached under his truck.
I'll try to make a quick edit and toss them up.

Duuuude! You're spending serious $$ in these past few weeks! More power to you, man. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
