Hey guys quick question, do the tacomas come tinted or is it the glass.....? my Tacoma has the back passenger windows and the back slide window darker is it tint or dark glass just curious as I'm getting my windows tinted today ! And how dark of tint did you get in the fronts (driver) if any of ya did?

 

Its the glass, so if you do one shade all the way around the back will be darker. I have limo all the way around

 

The glass is darker, and there is no tint.

I only know because one of my tires threw a rock into Brads rear passenger window and it shattered with no tint sheet on the window.

Precoma do you get pulled over alot?? I don't know how dark to go My brother has just light in the front but I don't think its dark enough but i'm scared of being pulled over

 

I got one ticket when the front windows were one shade lighter but got pulled over for speeding and the cop just gave me a fix it ticket for the windows which was cool. When I got them tinted before I was never happy with the shade cause they werent dark enough and regretted not getting limo at first.

No 5.0 is going to tell me how to mod my truck lol I was worried when I first got them retinted but havent been harassed yet

I have 15% front, never been harassed.

 

I used to drive a rice'd out honda civic with all windows tinted (and still drove like a civil human being) and got pulled over all the time. Now, driving my taco with all windows tinted and no front license and I've yet to be pulled over (knock on wood). Part of it is if you look like trouble...the other part of it is if you drive like an asshole (not saying any of you do...just generally speaking). Drive it like a truck and not like a race car and most cops won't even look at you twice for window tint.

 

I had the same experience.

First car: 1999 Mustang GT - BRIGHT YELLOW...supercharger, tint, no front plate, no cats, flowmasters, intake, etc...15.5 years old, never pulled over once.

Second car: 2008 VW GTI - ground effects, HID's, 18" wheels, lowered, intake, exhaust, tint, subwoofers...pulled over 6 times in 4 years for my front plate alone, along with countless other times.

Now the Taco...LT, 35's, glass, tint, exhaust, intake, no front plate, rear plate covered by spare, no light on plate, HID's, amber LED's, etc...never pulled over.

 

Ya used to drive a honda civic and 1st gen tacoma 5 lug in college and both had tint. Got a couple of fix it tickets even though I drove normal. I want to tint my windows but the CHP office is pretty close to my house and Pasadena PD are kind of dicks sometimes too.

 

yeah also a big part of it is where you find yourself driving at what times of the day. In my civic I was always driving late at night and sometimes in sketchy neighborhoods driving from one party to another. Now I just commute to work and back during the day and the latest I'm out driving anymore is usually 10pm and it's to the market down the street and back.

also, the it's just the stigma of driving a vehicle modified for racing...unless it's an american "muscle" car, you're probably going to be labeled as a "gang member" or some other hooligan until they find out otherwise by pulling you over.

Yea true but Eh I drive late sometimes and I just rather not deal with it ! I ended up going with 15% on the front and limo on the back
