Is the 3" toytec lift with adjustable bilsteins any good? I was looking into it and someone said it was right. I'm so lost on what lift to get

If I had the money I'd go with Fox but with grad school coming up I'll go with bilsteins and eibach coils for now, until I graduate and get a better job.

Ask le whipper how much he loves his fox coilovers. :D

I also hook up forum members with Icon pricing...PM me about it if you're shopping around.

And Corey, like I mentioned, the bilstein 5100's at 2.5" lift are pretty stiff. The only way I'd do it personally is with an OME 885 coil set at 0", not the factory one. It provides 3" of lift, and isn't as preloaded as the stock spring would be. I ran my factory springs at 2.5" and it drove like ass compared to Brad's lift, which was the 5100's and OME's.

Well the cheapest set up I've found which most people are happy with is 5100's with eibach/ome coils and a leaf pack. With all that brand new it looks around 1k but with some searching you can probably find used in good shape parts.

After that you're approaching coilovers which is a different ball game.

in all reality, a set of Bolt in Coilovers is not that expensive.

    995 brand new? not bad
find a used set for 4-600.

Buy parts used, and refurbish, rebuild, and clean them till they work and look as close to new as possible.

    coils: 4-600
    UCA: 250-400
wheels/tires: 350-700 depending on sizes and styles.

    total max-1700.

i think we may have a differing opinion on what "expensive" is.

Well you don't really need new UCAs with bilsteins if you stay under 2.5 I believe and you don't really need new rims either, tires maybe (if they're worn down).

I think he meant crazy expensive. And yeah, but to be honest, if you can drive your truck the way it is, I'd save up for what you really want/need. A lift that provides clearance that's safe, reliable, and drives well. Most guys on here will start with Bilsteins, and 6 months or a year later they go with coilovers and uniball arms, then some will move to LT. It's just the nature of humans to want something better than what they have...shit, I still think about changing my suspension.

Save up a bit, get some nice coilovers and control arms and be very happy with your purchase, rather than kinda happy with what you were able to afford at the time. You know I'd be more than happy to help you with the budget no matter what you decide on, but I have to give you my honest professional opinion based on what I see everyday with people and their Jeeps and trucks.

Anyways, here's some pics I got from hammers, in case anybody cares. Fun little whoop section we found, nothing crazy but still got to cycle the suspension a bit.

Where are you getting rims/ tires for only 350-700?? Give me that number ASAP! But I had Matt give me an estimate for those and it came out to $3176 which I figured is stupid considering I know I could find all the pieces used for a lot less

I had those before. And I'd like a full 3" and with 3"+ you need uca. And I want new rims and having a lift on stock tires looks retarded IMO. Looks like baby tires. I'm getting 33s with a lift

used wheels and tires man. i troll craigslist all day. picked up a set of 17x9 procomps with used terra grappler 35s for 230$.

its do-able. just have the money set away to pull the trigger when you want them.

Just so you know, I was pricematching Toytec because that's the lift you were referring to. If you want, I can break up that kit to individual pieces and see where there's room to play.

Falken Wildpeak AT's are the most bang for the buck out there as far as tires go, and Methods are pretty well priced at around $200 per wheel for our trucks in a 17". Of course, used is WAY cheaper...but I don't sell used parts.

what everyone is saying is you dont "NEED" wheels or uca's. that "WANT" is arounf 1300 if your buying new.

matt said it well. save up and purchase something youre going to be happy with, or purchase whats in your budget now, and replace it later.

Ya that'd probly be the best thing to do. I'll probly end up doing what Matt said. Getting the adjustables then eventually upgrading to icons or something
