    We do work for a "sister" company up north. They have a project manager working in our building to facilitate their jobs. They basically use our labor and warehouse for their SoCal jobs.
    I OK'd a $20 bill charged to us for some stickers the installers accidentally threw away. She sends an email to my our accountant requesting payment.
    Accountant is currently on maternity leave.
    She gets an email from the "sister" co. regarding damaged product. Cost is around $13,000. Sister company said I approved it.
    It's a vague email with an invoice/bill and some half assed "pictures" of damage.
    Accounting forwards to me to look into it. If we damaged it we would take pictures, sign it off, etc.
    Nothing in file. Can't locate PO# for the product, job name doesn't sound familiar, etc.

    Come to find out this was a job we never touched. The PM had the pictures of damaged product for months but sat on them so the manufacturer isn't replacing so I think she tried to hide a $13,000 bill and get it paid by hoping the accountant with baby brain would just push it through.

    Word around my company is she's getting canned within the month. He company made $400 profit last year so they are looking to get rid of some fat. However, that came from the CEO and he owes quite a bit of many so maybe he just said that to buy some time to pay.
