I know most here are employed but if you guys have any friends or family looking for a job;

I'm with a union installation company (Local 721: Whittier) and we are booming right now. We are looking at keeping roughly 10 guys busy on one job for at least the remainder of the year. 90% of the work is in the LA area but do travel to NorCal, San Diego and the Midwest from time to time. We are a performance driven company, we don't care how long someone has been with us, we promote and work people based off of a quarterly review between the management and the foremen. Reason i'm saying that is because a lot of people think union shops base work all on seniority, which isn't the case here.

Just shotgunning info out. If I get 5 lousy employees who don't last a month but find one great one that has a strong work ethic it's worth it in the end. My HR might hate the paperwork but that's their job.

Only if I can get full scale lol. Local 721, isnt that carpenters? What do you guys do, tilt ups and modulars?
I wouldnt mind carrying a card for two trades

Modular installation. We used to do a lot of office furniture but it’s been leaning more and more to floor to ceiling glass.
We’re in the new Long Beach Civic Center right now.

anybody here ever had wolrvine work boots?

 

I had a pair. They were nice until I I had to chase my fishing pole into the lake. They lasted me about a year, but that's all any boot will last in the work conditions I put them through.

 

There are better work boots for the money, but every foot is different. I was a red wing fan for years but recently switched over to Georgia's. New fan here and no idiot tax on the name. I've had these since the beginning of the year and besides a little wear on the soles they are holding up flawlessly. Much better break in as well.

You feel like a damn goat as far as grip/confidence goes. I would never wear boots/work shoes w/o these. I have a zillion backpacking miles under my belt, and sometimes the "Hugh Hefner" effect becomes obvious. I've just about tried everything and these are the best so far. Have even tried stuff after and went back to superfeet.

 

Idk about wolves they are comfortable but don’t hold up that great. Atleast mine didn’t but they were a part of the multishox line or something like that.

 

i currently have red wings. But i won the mike Rowe scholarship this year and wolverine it giving me a pair of work boot for free. That is why i ask.

 

the hard part is waiting for them to mold/conform. it takes about and a week of daily use (for me) buuuut worth it.
