yes saw it at SSSS in scottsdale. we had a few hours to crawl over it alone (with no robby). cool unit, it wont be even remotely close to the production one though.


edit to expand on my disappointment
its years behind schedule. they have missed every deadline by a long shot. if i put down a deposit when first discussed, i would be fuming that this is as far as they have come. the prototype is very sloppy. nothing is near completion. there is too much "cool stuff" that doesnt make any sense. massive billet bulkheads both front and rear which we all know will not be in production models. insanely messy wiring looms and harnesses hanging down. the car is "cool" on paper, but i would be more interested to see what the actual production model will have vs the proto. there are some huge issues that are not being taken seriously. the entire car will have no warranty with the "go" key. the dealer and service network is very small. the cost is completely unknown. deposits that were $1000 are now being resold for $9000, driving up the end MSRP with no real cap. dealerships are already buying up VINs and getting ready to rape people over "limited stock". the car isnt even proven yet. robby had almost full reign to design the wildcat xx for textron and it was released with multiple issues which SPEED SXS has fixes for, that are sold separately outside of the warranty package which is a huge F you to customers. axle plunge issues causing CVs to explode or rip out the diffs and hubs, or you can buy the robby dual plunge axles for like $600/ea. they shouldve been a factory service bulletin.

overall, cool "concept" and he got millions to fund it through people that love drinking the robby kool aid, but lots of people will be dissapointed in it just like every product he puts his name on.

he sells his name well, hes a legend in the sport and is riding that until he dies. i dont blame him, but i certainly am not envying anyone that is waiting for theirs.

 

side note, anyone have a rotopax base plate and mount i can buy or borrow for the weekend?

Which sxs do you have?

yxz and x3. but ive done the rzr's and am fairly in tune with the wildcat xx as well.

 

Ok just looking into getting rzr pro Xp any advice in getting a new sxs.

 

i would go sit in every single one you can. id say 99% of the differences is in driver position and ergonomics. i would do the RZR turbo s or can am x3 xrs personally, not the pro xp. then figure out what kind of riding you want to do, how much you can comfortably put aside for maintenance and how involved you want to be with it. planning on just dropping it off at a shop for maintenance? can am. plan on wrenching on it yourself? polaris. dont want to wrench on it? yamaha, honda or kawasaki. going over big fast whoops or slow trails and rock crawling? mudding? what you want will dictate what you should look at.

 

@eccracer104 Mike, Harley just broke it down for you. Make sure you you get the 2500 to pull they toys too.

 

why would you not go with the pro xp? I plan on doing my own maintenance. We will use it for forest trail/ forest service roads and desert ridding. I would pick the turbo S but it will be to wide for most of the trails we will be ridding.

First is that they were released with a known primary clutch issue that would spontaneously combust blowing aluminum shrapnel through the rear firewall into the drivers back (this happened with a friend). Secondly they are hideous in my opinion lol. Also for what you get they are overpriced and have nothing I "need". Turbo s dynamix or velocity can be found cheaper and parts are more readily available with both OEM and aftermarket as there is cross platform compatibility from the base rzr 1000 xp to the turbo s. Turbo s has more than enough power, has more than enough suspension. If your concerned about width id say a regular turbo xp then. Still tons of power and can be hopped up like crazy and stay narrow for the trails. But you're asking the wrong person. Ive owned enough and settled back on the yxz for a reason lol
