I'd rather take some time to tune then test, but I'm still learning how to drive safely at speed, fyi. So Lucerne to Barstow would work better for me, maybe a reverse of the Off-Pavement run?

I also will have my Ham installed and modded. Could we take a few minutes to make sure it all works properly? Maybe while we are gasing up or airing down? Thanks.

    that would be sick.

We can start in camp rock road. There is an awesome stretch of whoops (1 mile long) between camp rock road and transmission road.

If you are tuned for those whoops, then you are set to hit a good majority of whoops in lucerne and barstow.

I have a random ?... when you guys tune ur suspension for different terrains who actually sets the valving or tuning on your suspension? Or I guess what im trying to ask is how do you set up your suspension for the terrain you ride most?

    You valve your shocks
There are these things called shiems, and they have different thicknesses, the thicker the harder the coilover gets, thats my theory? Lol

you valve for the terrain you wheel most in, be it Barstow, Lucerne, ocotillo, or the dirt road behind your house.

A lot of shops can valve your shocks, and they usually give you two revalves. Afterwards, if you have bypasses, you can fine tune to give you the best performance.

My truck is tuned pretty well for Lucerne, but put me in Pismo or dirt roads and its not that comfy.

    Am i right?
I think it has alot to do with valving, having them valved to different terrains....or how hard u push the truck thru woops

you mostly need shocks valved for your truck ie what suspension you have, how much weight you have, etc.

That makes sense... so in order to get the best results out of your shocks its good to set them up for what you ride most... so like most 4x4 shops have a general idea of what vavling will be best for which terrain or does that fall more on a suspension specialist?

the reason i ask is i want to step up my game in suspension and such and i wanna be as informed as possible going into everything... But the insight is great guys thanks i really appreciate it

Downsouth Motorsports charges $25 a shock to revalve, and you get tow revalves.

There are some local shops too, I dont know their names off the top of my head.
