Jen and I are having an argument:

    My View:
If you cant fit a certain tire size at stock ride height, you cant "fit" it with a lift, because at some point in time, that wheel is going to travel to stock position and it wont fit. My theory is, a lift doesnt allow you to fit bigger tires, cutting and trimming does. A lift just allows you to "fit" bigger tires at RIDE HEIGHT.

    Jen's View:
Lift allows bigger tires to FIT. It may not keep them from rubbing at all points but it helps them to FIT. Example.. my truck 285/75/16, cant GET OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY with out lift (tried it, trust me) BUT with a 3" lift I was able to drive TO lucerne, through lucerne, barstow, up big bear mountain and back home with some running when romping it. How did the lift not help them FIT? So lets make my tires 35s, could I FIT them now? Probably wouldn't be able to get out of the driveway, but if I got a 6" lift I could. (my cab mounts not chopped, but if it was id still be able to FIT bigger tires with a lift than with out)

the only reason most tires wont fit is because they'll rub somewhere low ( chassis, fender, well) so lifting it clears most issues. i guess you can cut everything on the tacoma at stock height and fit 35's if you really want to. youre both right i guess, but she is righter.

all you have to do is cycle, trim and cut and you'll fit 35s at ride height :D

I have seen so many tacos with 33s that "fit" with a 3" lift that rub like hell on the trail. Proof that lifting doesnt fit. trimming and cutting fits.

But "fitting" and "not rubbing" are two different things...

true i have rubbed at dumont even with a 3" lift... and maybe i will sound stupid for saying this but with a 6" lift when would you be riding at stock height... I gues what im trying to say is i cant see ryans truck flexing enough to get his tires into the stock position... (no offense ryan)

stock taco cycled, cut and trimmed to clear 33s

    vs

3" lifted taco with 33s, no cutting or trimming, fitting at ride height.

take them both thru lucerne. Tell me which one is fitting the 33s :D

so you wanna pay $$$ to fit 33's on a stock taco with limited travel to spending the $$$ on suspension and a cab mount chop? you cant win or lose this argument, but you can lose your bed.

and to get back at you she should post nudez!:anonymous:
