dumb questions alert!

In the future, if i purchase an ARB air locker (because i have a TRD sport model and not the offroad model)...can i somehow use that has an on board air compressor to inflate my tires? or will i need a system independant from the ARB product.?

you can use arb to inflate your tires but i guess it is really slow, might as well have seperate compressor. YOu could also get a bigger compressor.. http://www.quadratec.com/products/16104_900X_PG.htm

Or you could get some comparable.

 

So that product that you have provided is just for the compressor, correct?... i would also have to get the locker kit to complete my needs for a locker and tire inflator?

that is just the compressor. You would need a locker which is separate http://store.arbusa.com/ARB-Air-Loc...-Bearing-30-Spline-373--Down-RD121-P3515.aspx. You might want to look into also a Detroit mechanical locker where it is locked all the time but when you go around a turn you will hear a chrip

 

you might want to look at Eastcoastgearsupply.com where they do 3rd members which it might be cheaper to do.

 

and possibly spin out on icy roads...click, clunk, bang around turns....and slightly more worn rear tires...

might do a mechanical rear locker in my 4runner....but it will be driven maybe 4 times a month....

DD with a mechanical locker....I dunno...save ur pennies IMO
but totally possible, people have been DD'ing mechanical locker rigs for years

yea, but if you do the 3rd member you could have like monkey proof help install it he done it before. So all you would need is parts.

I know it's all in the driver...but I'd hate to be heading up hill through the twisty highway in the middle of a snow storm with a mechanical locker in the rear

 

i could see mechanical locker being a problem and Abs.
