This is what I am telling the lowballers eyeing my truck and giving me a shitty offer for it
Hmm, yeah fine, for [amount of shitty offer] I can sell you this one (or any piece of sh*t rustbucket pickup picture I can find)

But they walk away, I don't know why ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Stupid offer, stupid reply. You get what you pay/offer for, you know :p

Probably just weird lighting makes it look funny, or it's been repaired.

Frame colors have never been an option, lol...

Well, that's not a thing I've ever heard of Toyota doing. My 97 5 lug and 86 4RUnner had black frames. Could easily just be repairs or a restoration. Those pics loko more like lighting weirdness.

When I was looking for my 1st gen, all I saw was stuff like this. Or scam posts. Or 20 year old garage queens for 20,000 bucks.

you mean 'shit beige'? yeah. too much. At the shop I work at, there's a hard rule- any beige cars show up for repairs get parked out back. Otherwise they multiply and sooner or later you end up with a beige buick park avenue in front of the shop.

As long as it passes the safety inspection it does not need to be pretty.

I agree looks like lighting. Look a the brake drum on the opposite side. Looks blue.

Also, the welding in several places on the brackets look like repair welds. For example, look at the base of the body mount. Looks like crunchy peanut butter smeared on it.

Maybe, does it have a full tank of gas and a “like new” air freshener?

if you fill the tank full it starts leaking out of the top all over the ground now
hence the serious drop in value!

Can I get an :amen: up in this MFer??!
Seriously repairing these type of things usually only make sense if you are not having to pay the labor to keep it on the road. If it's your own time and labor who cares what you do with your time. If you wanna weld up rusty frames to keep Yotas on the road another 5-10 years, I think that's great. But who cares what I think, it's your time and it's your vehicle. (not you personally Wyoming09, just saying you in a general sense) :D

I agree 100% if you need to pay regular labor rate to keep a vehicle on the road .

    keep swapping every few years
