I have a big bear trip planned this weekend for Cactus flats Vista trail
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...r-june-10th-11th.488858/page-43#post-15317073
Edit.... it went to Idyllwild, no one knew enough about big bear to go. I got second guessed by other group members. Oh well I will try again next weekend for a scouting trip.

We have 1st to 3rd's in the group and some 4x4. We are just a mix of guys from San Diego to the valley. Just saw your thread last night. There is no where to wheel here in west LA, downtown etc... so I have to travel and most other do to. So I am a middle point and want to mix us all in. Camp, wheel, shoot, drink, bbq, meet up, mod days. We all like the fun so... I try to help make it happen.

Even if I wanted to I can't now. My diff has been slow leaking (1-2 drops a day) for the last month. This morning I go outside and there's a massive puddle of oil under the truck...

Mines a 2nd gen so I have to do it myself or pay someone, but basically same problem.
Most likely going to sit until October with very little driving

If you do it yourself don't bother ordering a gasket from Toyota. You can just use rtv. Follow the directions and it will seal up awesome

I am not touching that differential. It's Toyotas problem. This truck has 12k miles on it and is covered for 24k under Toyota care then what ever recalls it has. My 07 had a leak in it also when I had it but Toyota covered it under warranty but it was only a couple of years into owning it. Youtube can be your best friend along with a few of us from the forums that may be willing to help you out on mod day when someone else needs help. Brotherhood here. Help each other to accomplish it as cheaply as possible. Then there are those things that just aint fucking cheap. So you bite the bullet and frown for a week until you realize you have your truck back. Just my opinion.

It is a fun run, just outside of SCV. It's 2wd friendly as well if you have the gusto to do it!
