    Hi,

I picked up a 67 Designs Taco Rail and G7 grip mount a month or so ago. Despite tightening down and taking the dash trim off and back on again multiple times I have a squeak/creak that won’t go away. Any light bump in the road or curve taken at speed, the creak comes back. It seems like it’s the weight of the phone in the mount on the rail that’s causing the dash trim piece to creak.

    1. Has anyone else experienced this?
    2. What (if anything) did you do to stop the creak?

It’s driving me a little crazy.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Yeah I had the same issue. I moved the ball mount in towards the center about 1/4" so it wasn't leveraging out as fa, also swing the arm in as close to the dash as you can. I also removed the taco rail and put a very thin 1/8" strip of 3M double sided tape. Solved my issue completely. I live in AZ and the dash temps hit 120*+ and I haven't had any issues with the tape lifting at all. Shoot me a PM if you need me to send you a pic of what I mean.

Fantastic! This is just what I needed! I’m giving this a go this evening. And thanks for including the info about the heat. I had a similar idea with adding something between the rail and dash but thought it might melt in the GA heat. If it will work in AZ it will work anywhere! :). Thanks again, brother. Really appreciate your help.
