    Hi,

Is it a straight-forward swap replacing a 6cyl engine with a 4cyl? Both trucks are 1998's and 5sp manual trans. One truck has bad 6cyl engine and the 4cyl donor truck was in an accident but has a good engine. Are the 5 speeds the exact transmissions in both vehicles?

Any advise or links would be appreciated...

    Thanks

No. The 4-cylinder tranny should be a W59, and the 6-cylinder tranny should be an R150 (5-lug) or R150F (6-lug).

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
ECU's, wiring harness', and the tranny's will need swapped (ones is a W59 and the other is a R150). It is also a concern if they are both 4x4's.
