6SP Clutch Fluid?

Wanting to get my clutch fluid replaced soon...what do you 6sp guys reccomend? 55k on the odometer.

are you recommending that for clutch fluid or trans fluid? i already have that in my trans

 

Clutch fluid is just DOT 3 brake fluid. DOT 4 is fine, it just has a higher boiling point than DOT 3.

If you want to do it right, you should also change your brake fluid at the same time as the clutch and brake system share the same reservoir.

Before I tell you the wrong thing, look under your hood and look for this reservoir: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/at...d1242196215-clutch-fluid-reservoir-clutch.jpg

Seems like some models have shared reservoir and some don't. If you got this reservoir, your clutch fluid has its own reservoir and you won't have to change your brake fluid.

 

i think he has split because he does not have atrac.

There really is nothing different between changing clutch fluid or changing brake fluid. The process is the same.

The bleeder for the clutch is on the driver side of the tranny.

And make sure to check the fluid level in the reservoir really often so it doesn't become empty. If it does, you might get air in the ABS system and that won't be fun to bleed afterwards.
