First up: Not a vendor, affiliate, or trying to give a bad rep, just curious. If anything and its true then it should end up helping them. :)

I was reading through URD's performance parts and came across the URD short shifter mod for the 6 speed manual Tranny's.

It says: "There was a clearance issue in the assembly that caused the parts inside to bind before the gears were completely engaged."

    http://www.urdusa.com/product_info.php?products_id=1230100023

Is this true? and if so, could this be the cause of the rumoured Syncro bearing issues in the 6spd Transmissions? Seen it said around TW and XRU a couple times but of course you can't find it once your looking for it.

Mods are currently being changed .....
For some reason, I was always under the impression that short throw shifters had the potential to wear synchros more than when compared to the stock throw.

honestly I'm not certain how, I've just heard they are usually the failing point of the 6sp manual transmissions. When i read the quote i thought there might be some connection to this.

Yea thats where you'll notice it, I had an old 95 Chevy S-10 5 sp manual, and it'll slowly get more and more difficult to switch into gears when your individual synchros start to go.
