Looks like I am on vacation that week 19-25th and the misses has talked about heading south to the Austin then the gulf coast but me maybe list. Once I lock all the details in I will confirm in

Tentative schedule for us
Saturday or Sunday the 19th head south to Austin
Tuesday the 21st head down to San Antonio
Thursday head down to Corpus
Party with Tacoma World Saturday
Sunday Drive back up to Dallas

Monday back to work hopefully tired sun burnt and completely exhausted but with big smiles on all our faces!

Once I figure out the hotel/camping/airbnb I will figure out if I am going to bring kayaks and fishing gear

For those of you out of towner's looking to stay near the Island without paying ridiculous prices (1 night for $200 at the Island around this time), check out Long Island Village in Port Isabel. They rent mobile homes which are fully furnished have two bed rooms and can fit a whole bunch of you for $98 a night. I'm staying in one for vacation on July 10 and 11 (yes Friday and Saturday night for $98 each night). I am very familiar with Long Island since I have a friend who owns a place there and have stayed there many times before. I didn't realize they actually rented out "park model" units some are on the water and some are inside the park. Contact is 956-943-6449.

There are also primitive camp sites behind Dirty Al's that have shower units on the Island before Isla Blanca Park, I believe you have to contact the park office 956-761-5493. I have also stayed here at one point.....very cheap. And of course for you guys who have money to throw around.....well they have all the nice hotels, etc.

yep. I am still an Iff as were opening a hotel in CS and that's the time the meet is. Last minute I may or may not go. I'm hoping that I can make it.

 

We are camping at Goose Island State Park on the Bayside camp sites. We will vlbe arriving Wednesday afternoon and staying till Sunday afternoon.

Still working out where to stay in San Antonio. If anyone has a decent hotel that you know of please let me know. Does not have to be fancy just don't want to have to worry staying in a bad area

 

There's a drury hotel right at i10 and wurzbach, or the Omni hotel. Great area/medical center.

 

I stayed at the Drury Inn Suites near 6 flags off of I-10 and 1604. Paid $100 for a King Suite. : )

That was in spring though. I wouldn't know what their rates are now during the summer.
