    Hey Guys

what is the lowest speed you cruise at in 6th gear.... I usually am in 6th gear above 55mph and the 2k RPM

I've noticed I been trying to get into 6th gear faster in the city when I can to save gas....

So my question is what is the lowest speeed I can cruise in 6th and not stress the transmission

I found that at 4-45 your under 2rpm.... I usually run my engine at 2k

    Thanks

Id say whatever the engines "feels" like it can handle i mean as long as it doesn't bog down or lug you should be fine

Yeah....Watch out for lugging...Just go by the feel.

I managed to start it outta 6th in my parking lot....Just cause I felt like trying.
I had to aplogize to the truck for hours afterwards...but it's doable...

I followed the manual for years, 50 mph or more. But changed to the below numbers and really helped mileage. Never got below 20 mpg all summer. Cold & snow have dropped that to 18-19, but you get the idea.

Assuming unloaded. No lugging. In 6th...

Any time road tilts down(where engine braking not needed), 40 mph
    Flats, 45 mph
Uphill, depends how steep. Usually around 50.

I do a lot of gear jumping 1, 3, 5, 6 or 2,4,6 like this. I am usually hitting 6th gear around 40-45 mph per hour with no chugging.

Yeah...Skip shifts are helpful. I've been going 1,2,4,6 more often then not. And 43-45 is usually pretty solid

I just was out driving and paid attention cause I was thinking about your question..I didn't have #'s last time)
