6x10 base camp/duck hunting/household goods mover

I loved it. No trolling motor on it but we mostly used it for short trips of a mile or less for duck hunting.

 

Finally installed my new roof vent, but it was a pain for sure. All the hardware on the trailer is some weird sizer torx bit, it's not a 15 and it's not a 20 :x . So I went and bought one of these as scene on tv screw extractors :worship: . And I was very happily surprised that it work very well 8)

So I put my new one in with self taping screws with a 3/8" bolt head.


It's nice to have a working vent now


I also installed my smaller tires for towing. Man am I not used to having small donuts for tires :frightened:

So I'll start the pics. Here is the truck and trailer fully loaded. My rear drops about 1 7/8". I defineately wish I had more time to get to airbags added to the rear

Teaser from the road. We are a little over 1850 miles into the trip, almost halfway there! Just went over 90k on the truck and have been averaging 11-12 mpg. Been trying to take it easy going through the mountains the highest temps on the tranny I've scene on my scanguage is 223* for about 2min while climbing through a pass at 4300 feet. I have been averaging about 170*

Well we made it down here a couple days ago after 4000 miles of driving. I will be working on the trip report soon, but it may take me a little bit. Just did the buying your first house mod......

Hey guys just quick update, been just getting settled in here in San Diego at the airstation and at home. been working goin editing all the pics I took on our trip, hopefully have them done soon

Finally spent the time to install mine today, along with a ubolt flip and daystar cradles.thwt should help with the sagging with the trailer loaded down.






I had a little help

 

Little update, so this is how it will normally be loaded. All my decoys and gear for waterfowl hunting.

When it's time to sleep I just pull the two white bags out and set up my sleeping mat and bag. I think I'm going to pick up a cot so I'm not directly on the trailer floor. I do still need to insulate the floor, that should help keep the trailer a tab bit warmer along with the rest of the insulation.

To keep my battery topped off I picked up a solar panel and controller from harbor freight. I also secured 8 large magnets to the underside so I can keep it from being blown of the top of the trailer, but at the same time still be able to quickly remove it for when it comes time to move the trailer. So far it has stood up to 50 mph winds out in the area that we hunt and it didn't budge.
