according to this you could buy a SR access cab or 4 door with v6 and 6MT but it’s fleet only

How does one order these fleet only variations?

Or do you have to have a large company that does fleet business with Toyota on a commercial account ?

 

I think you might have the answer to your questionj in your question (fleet/commercial), but I am not Toyota nor a rep. I am making assumptions based on the wording and prior models seen on the dealer lots.

 

Go SR, 4cyl and 5 speed MT.

I know you already know it is the greatest configuration available.

For the general public to get a MT in a 4 door you have to go high option and spend a good bit of money


Fleet customers seem to be able to order base truck 4 door in 6MT

Thus my question is one has to have to some special fleet account with Toyota?

I just looked back at your post. You did notice that what you circled is titled "discontinued" right?

So if you are looking for used.. I would suggest that 2018 2nd qtr or later would be when they possibly show up. even on that I would try to find a fleet using the config you want and make in inquiry there. Many fleets replace on a 2 - 3 year cycle based on time and or mileage.

From my experience, it was difficult to order a spec model. Better off finding it on www.cars.com and going to the dealer that has it in stock. That’s how I found my MT

Personally, I would not buy a vehicle that I knew was a former fleet vehicle. Unless you are familiar with company x and both the maintenance they do as well as how they treat a vehicle, I would suggest staying away.

I was with a trucking company for over 15 years, used trucks (18 wheelers) from thier fleet were aces, well maintained, monitored, rarely did they stay in use after any real collision/accident damage. Serious damage trucks were retired, replaced, and parted out.

However, the pool (pasenger as well as pickups) cars...most were driven hard, abused, poorly kept, multiple pms behind or skipped altogether.

 

It’s been perfect
Except for two new headlights due to leak under warranty

Plan was to keep it till 50k miles
It’s done it’s job. Replacement will be a Tundra Pro for next 50k miles

I can not answer that as I do not have first hand knowledge. I would however think that the "Fleet" designation would imply they are not for private use sale.
