I never said that I was going to sell it. Just wondering what the best overall decision would be.

I know that it'll go for 200,000 easily. But keeping it for that long doesn't necessarily mean that's the smartest financial decision either.

    Warranty over?
Getting close to tires, brakes, exhaust, and battery replacement time?
Current interest rate lower, vs original loan?
Factor the cost of repairs ... taxes you'd save on trade in at today's value vs +3 years.

That's the hidden cost of keeping it vs refreshing it.

Which is cheaper? You'll have to do your own math...
Last truck lasted me 7 years and was like new when I traded it. Low mileage and condition netted me an awesome trade in value. Cost of ownership was ~$1ooo/year including maintenance.

Yeah, warranty was over a while back. I've already bought new tires and getting ready to put new brakes on. Replaced the battery about 6 months ago too.

VERY rarely is buying a new car less expensive than continuing to drive the one you're in.

76k is nothing... keep driving it. Once it's paid off, keep making that payment into a savings account. When the wheels fall off this truck (in another 150k+ miles) you'll have enough CASH to get yourself a car w/o a payment.

    A.R.E. Here's a link.

I like it, but don't use it all that much. If somebody offered me enough, it'd be theirs.

Yeah, I like the A.R.E. shells. Seem pretty sturdy. Why don't you use yours very often? How much did you give for it?
