Depends on where he was talking about there is a couple hundred miles of the cutoff haha, but the Hastings Cutoff was a route used by the Donner party when they were traveling on the California trail, they thought it was a shortcut but it ended up adding 150 miles to their route which is part of the reason they got to the Sierras at the wrong time of the year. The cutoff ends in Elko where it rejoins with the California Trail at the interpretive center off of I-80 and heads towards Jiggs. There is a lot of awesome country along the route though.

Ah, sounded familiar. Being he's in Spring Creek I'd assume it's whatever is over by the interpretive center.

Have you been down the river in the last few weeks? I would imagine with the moisture we've been getting a few spots may become a little sketchy.
    I like that trail.

And other news... I fried my clutch, flywheel, and brake hydraulics... :( Truck is going to be down for quite a while.

    Nope
No, not sure how the brakes got fubared, clutch went out this afternoon in the parking lot, drove clutchless to town and warped the flywheel. Luckily enough I had an appt to look at my brakes tomorrow. Dropped the truck off and told them to fix it.
