I've had my fun with it, time to move on. Being RHD and manual, my wife won't drive it. Plus my daughter will be driving soon, so I will need the garage space.

Thanks for the ride along at the car show, Gio. Some rare cars there - RHD 70 series LC (mine has 2 less doors, lol), and Noble! I've driven a friend's Noble...simply amazing power to weight ratio.

 

Thanks for watching @hack4875! The amount of high quality rare vehicles in attendance was crazy.

I started the long drawn out process of getting this baby setup with all of the required smog equipment...

 

I am just about done acquiring and detailing everything to go back onto the engine. Fingers crossed we don't run into any issues and it passes smog!

 

I was all set and ready to go after a month and a half of parts sourcing and refinishing.

 

Once the parts were all installed it fired right up, and I headed to my buddys fab shop to bridge the gap between the exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe.

 

All we have to do now is head back to the smog station and hope it passes this time around!

Ordered replacement vacuum hose and gas cap from Toyota before heading to smog again.

 

Got it on the rollers and prayed tested evap for leaks, and boom! Passed with flying colors

 

Snapped some beauty shots during golden hour on the ride home. Went to aaa the next day and picked up it's first tags since 1997.

Update on the FJ40

Completed a 12 hour paint correction and ceramic coat on the whole exterior.

 

Got a new set of oem Toyota tools, mounted an H3R fire extinguisher and replaced the Warn Hub dash decal.

 

Took it to SundaySteelOC monthly meet, then headed down to PCH for breakfast and Lunch in Balboa/Newport

 

Getting some more work done in preparation for the Toyotafest show this Saturday.

Leaking gearbox shaft seal replaced



Floor mat all cleaned up



Skid plate and rear bump stops installed


Re-routed all vacuum lines to hide printed script as much as possible

 

Last but not least I installed a Warn M8274 winch and oem style winch ready bumper with shackle mounts.

 

Man that thing is beautiful!
