7th Annual South Padre Island thread!!! 07/23/2016

Hi guys and gals, it's time to get the ball rolling again! WOW, the 7th SPI meet (Yes, in SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, NOT IN CORPUS)

In 2010 I bought a brand new Tacoma and a few months afterwards I found TacomaWorld and soon discovered that such things as meets existed, HOW EXCITING!!!!!!

So I started looking into it and saw that there had been no real successful meets for the Rio Grande Valley area and I decided to give it a shot myself, well here is a photo of our first ever TacomaWorld South Padre Island meet up:




Only FIVE trucks showed up






This was last year's meet up (not my pic), the sixth one: There was around 35 Toyotas!!!






Can we beat that number this year?!?!?!

If you're not going to be able to make it, please don't post any comments saying so. I'm not trying to sound rude or offensive, but when people post things like "Well, I can't make it out because so and so... ...take lots of pics guys!!!" it takes away some of the positivity of the thread.
Like I said, I'm not trying to be rude, just honest.

We're going to have the meet on 07/23/2016.

Now I'm just going to copy and paste the rest of the necessary information from the previous year's thread.


Request the day off if you think you might work that day.


For those of you in the SA area, we will ride out that same morning, preferably no later than 5:30 am from here:

San Antonio, TX 78251

BUUUUUUUT since that might not be convenient for everyone you can always just hit the road and either meet up somewhere along the road/at a stop or at SPI

From there we'll drive down to the Corpus area and meet with the guys and or gals from there in an area:

From there we'll ride down and stop in Harlingen to refuel (there is a Bass Pro Shop where we'll meet) and meet up with more people in that area if they haven't already headed to SPI. From there we'll head out to Port Isabel and get everybody together in the Walmart parking lot and wait for about 30-45 minutes for any stragglers and buy stuff for grillin'and beers and chips and what not...





So

5:30 Leave SA -5:45 am the latest -

7:30-7:45 Leave Corpus area after meeting up with the tacomaworldlings from there. Meeting at the Walmart at this address :

Corpus Christi, TX 78410


9:30-9:45 Arrive in Harlingen, maybe refuel there. Meet more tacomaworldlings there. We'll meet in the Bass Pro Shop parking lot in Harlingen, wait for about 15-20 minutes for any stragglers.

10:30-10: 45 Arrive/ meet everybody in Port Isabel walmart parking lot, buy any last minute things…

11:15 leave together for SPI then regroup outside of Access 5 before going in.



With 2-3 stops between SA and SPI that timing sounds about right...

Boom!! I've planned my vacay back to the states around this! Can't wait to be back in the land of the free! I haven't touched or modded truck my truck since I've been gone... but I'm stoked to see what my Texas Tacoma friends have done to their rigs. See you there bud!

I agree with the parking further away!!!

 

About 2 weekends ago at access 6 at South Padre Island with one of my homies didn't get that great of a footage since it was at night

Weve organized a FB Toyota group down south finally and theres a huge growing population.. I posted it to the page (but dont worry ink this is your meet and TacomaWorld.. I just advertised this post to the page) im pretty sure we'll shatter 35 this year and push 50+ !!! This is gonna be the best year
