I broke free eight 21 year old flare nuts, even the ones for the LSPV. Wired brushed. A little PB. Clamped on. Hit it with a hammer. Checked the grip since some of the rust/buildup came loose. Retighten & kept hitting. Not a one stripped

Key for me was to use them right when I had a feeling (knowing, you know what I mean) that the nut might be trouble. (I don’t care much for flare nut wrenches anyway. Always seemed too loose). Don’t risk any stripping. Also key, was to keep checking that they are tight. It’s not that they loosen, its just precautionary, making sure that all the rust/buildup is removed. You most likely only have one, maybe two good access positions, so you don’twanna take any chances. Once your confident this is achieved, you can hammer away. Maybe a little heat depending on the situation.

They're 25% off on Amazon.... Different sizes. The #8 is the one for the 10mm. It's a small wrench, but that's not a bad thing with all the tight spots....

In all of my wandering through Lowe's looking at Irwin tools, I never saw that wrench. I have a few Irwin products and have like them. Thanks for posting.

I got these last year when I had stripped a flare nut trying to remove the hydraulic caliper line. They really aren’t made for that, nor do they advertise them as such. Fortunately the soft line removal was not a necessity so I left it. (Just got it off the other day by removing at the next nut.)
Key with these pliers is to keep checking that they are tight. It’s not that they loosen, its just precautionary, making sure that all the rust/buildup is removed. You most likely only have one, maybe two good access positions, so you don’t wanna take any chances. Once your confident this is achieved, you can hammer away. (Going to add this above)

Oh, & I wasn’t holdin’ out ;), I just hadn’t tried them again since the stripped nut. Now they seriously come close to “sliced bread”. Think I might just have to get the other two sizes.
