80+ year old thread

I qualify for this thread now, but generally read the 60+ thread.

Quit shaving the day I retired. SWMBO complained about the homeless look, so I started shaving the neck.

My technical savvy could use updating. Retired as an electrical engineer, but having real difficulty dealing with modern technology. Right now I am trying to activate a cell phone. Real frustration dealing with AT&T.

 

Well, good morning to you, you young finger sniffing millennial, and congrats on your enviable hobby, one that all males can relate to regardless of age and infirmities. It is, in fact, the only legitimate reason to continue prowling this planet, to ensure our continued dominance over the vanquished.

Your confidence in my tech savvy is way off base, I have zero savvy in these modern contraptions, my savvy is capped in the claw hammer days of old. When my iPhone takes a dump, it's a major celebration when I remember that all I have to do is reboot rather than buy a new one.

There is something you can do for both you and your dad, that being seek out the knowledge he has stored all these years waiting to transfer to you. This is his immortality, don't waste it. You may place different values on things than does your dad, that is neither here nor there, but respect his experience and build on it for yourself and beyond.

Avocado toast? Come on, go for broke with a BLTA and don't forget the mayo.

 

I did have a Santa Clause beard years ago, and before that I cultivated a Rollie Fingers 'stache before he could grow one himself. These days, I keep my head shaved for my dermatologist, and my whiskers short like Don whatzizname from Miami Vice.

Dealing with ATT? Don't get me started.
