To be blunt an electric impact is worthless for stubborn bolts. They are certainly useful, and I use my 20v dewalt regularly for light work, but they just don't have the necessary torque for automotive work.

That's a very nice tool chest

My shop is continually growing. Very excited to be expanding the fab / maintenance stuff and moving towards machining work. It's been a long time coming.

Also, re:ham stuff. I am very stoked to see that there is interest in this thread. I am more than happy to answer any questions that there may be. Or even host a workshop or three. BUT! Please. Get at least your technician license (or work towards it). It is seriously frowned upon to illegally operate your "race radios" and uv5r's on the wrong bands without licenses. The test is not hard. Even in this sleepy town, It is regularly offered locally.... with the next test being on the 9th of January. I will probably be there to get my extra upgrade. All questions and answers are all available ahead of time. There are free apps available for your smart phone and a wealth of knowledge available on the web by people smarter than me. Do it. There's still a time and a place for CB, but my ham stuff has paid for its self more times than I can count.

And about the CB talk / tuning: SWR is a fairly terrible method of measuring antenna performance. In any rate, on my pile:
    70cm- 1.1:1.
    2m- 1.2:1.
    6m- 1.4:1
    10m- 1.1:1
    CB- 1.0:1.
    12m- 1.1:1
    15m- 1.1:1
    17m- 1.1:1
    20m- 1.0:1
    30m- 1.3:1
    40m- 1.3:1
    80m- 1.3:1

If my pile's on I'm monitoring 146.520 and the local repeaters. As well as beaconing 144.390 (APRS). For HF I spend most of my time on 20m these days.

Thanks for all in info and the link to the test location coming up. Seeing as I'm a bit immobile for the time being, it looks like a good as time as any to do a little more reading and head over there on the 9th! Time to hit the books i guess.

And you know I'd be in for an at_olw workshop! I do have a lot of time off coming up with nothing going on :annoyed:

Yea, it's up in his shop. That's a mockup grill - I gotta buy a new one. This brace is SOLID compared to the old one. I will have much fun punishing it.

Yeah, solid is an understatement when comparing it to your old one. Does he have to beef up that lower support/hoop, or is he just running everything off what was already there?

Good question. I left it up to the artist . I sure as heck can't do what he does and I trust it. It'll be ready this week and I may take it to Big Bear next week!

I was debating between King and them but they both seem great and I can be a little different that way.

Do you have stock control arms?

if so they will hit the coil on droop.... I had a clunk on my 5100's n stock coils and you could see where the UCA would hit the coil.... swapped to SPC uca's and no more clunk!
