Me too. My girlfriend's exact words when we got in the car: "I guess the Tacoma people aren't too weird." Lol

Which of you guys have installed extended brake lines? I've read that it's best to have the dealer do the bleeding because they need to hook up to the OBD2 port, did any of you go that route, or do it yourselves?

    Yeah
when I had a second gen taco I did it...it's easy. Just bleed normally...don't run the master dry!! Do you have a flare nut wrench?

I just bought a set. So bleeding normally while making sure the master cylinder stays full won't throw anything off with the ABS system?

Nope it shouldn't. On my 1st gen I let it run dry for a week and had to buy a new master cylinder and bench bleed it...I hate brakes lol

If it does you just go on a dirt road and activate abs and that gets the air out of the system...then Normal bleed again

Anyone interested in hitting up Hungry Valley and/or Cuyama (Lockwood Canyon, Apache Canyon) Saturday or Sunday Morning? We could meet at the 4x4 practice area at Hungry Valley between 8:00 and 9:00? The south entrance opens at 8:00am. It takes me an hour and half to get to the entrance from Carpinteria.

While we are on the topic of Extended Brake Lines, can I join the brake line install party with the 4Runner? It only has them up front.

Change of plans, going down tomorrow instead of Sunday. Buyer isn't coming til monday for the tacoma now.

I'm going to give mine a try this afternoon, so I may be sending out an SOS if I can't figure it out...

Let us know how it goes... I've heard & read multiple times that it's not as straight forward as it looks. In short, changing our your brake lines is a real B. I hope this isn't the case for you.

It's not that bad, just messy. I didn't even have the right tool at the time it it went just fine. I think you'll be alright.
