Weird story for you guys. Totally off topic. Wondering if anybody has any ideas on if I should do something or not. Maybe somebody in law enforcement.

Really weird shit going on lately. Somebody was parked in my girlfriend's parking spot on thursday and left a number. I texted it telling them she was on her way home. They hadn't moved in like 20 minutes so I texted again asking them to move. Then I called but got no answer. Turns out I dialed the wrong number. Their writing made a 9 look like a 0.

So what? They probably just ignored it knowing it was the wrong number. No big deal. No Problem.

    Wrong...

I get a call on Friday from a guy asking if he can help me in a really bitchy tone. I ask if I know him and he says know but he knows who I am and I've been texting his wife. He's looking on Verizon.com at her phone history. I said I don't know what he's talking about and he responds saying that he doesn't know what I said but that I texted her at 5:08 and 5:32. I was bowling on Friday at a work event so I definitely didn't. He ended the conversation by saying "you know what, I'll just come up and figure this out." Then hung up.

I was looking back through my messages and realized I texted the wrong number at those times the day before...

So I call him back and he is still super pissed off, but I don't want him to stalk me and kill my housemates while I'm away. I explain what happened and he seems skeptical. I screen shotted the messages and sent them his way and he said "thanks, have a blessed night." I thought, okay he's sorry, this is solved.

    Wrong again...

I get a call today from a random number, same guy. Saying my number is all over his wife's phone records. I said that I talked to him before, two days ago and that we already cleared the air. He says now there is a phone call, the one I made right after the texts. For some reason, logic didn't dictate that I may have called immediately after the messages for the same reason so he flipped. I explained once again and said I'm sorry for the confusion and he hung up.

Hopefully I don't hear from him again, but I don't know what to do. The guy seems unstable and I worry about him or his wife getting hurt over nothing. Either the guy is really overprotective and stalks his wife's phone records all the time, or she is sleeping around and he is trying to figure out who it is. I just hope the guy doesn't do anything stupid. So yeah, I don't know if I should do anything.

Hmmm.. Well, you've explained the situation, so there isn't much more you can do to convince the guy. If he continues to bug or harass you I would just block the number.
Scary part is it sounds like the guy is the jealous type, and the main concern is his wife's safety. But pursuing anything to make sure she is safe is surely going to set him off more.
Idk... I would just make sure you have a screen shot of the texts and block him. Clearly he has his own problems.

Yeah I don't really care if he calls again, I just worry about what he'd do if I tried to get a check on him so his wife is okay...

Yeah probably best to not contact again unless he goes psycho on you!

Is it possible for someone as dumb as that guy is to find you based on a cell number?

I don't think so. I was worried when he said "Nevermind, I'll just come up"

I live upstairs in an apartment and thought he was here somehow. Texted my roommates not to let anybody in.

Call the sherriffs office and file a report for harassment. But first you have to tell him to STOP. If he doesn't comply then you have legal grounds.

I don't really care. Just wondering if they would do like a check on him so he doesn't hurt himself or his wife. Seems crazy

I wouldn't contact that guy again or he might just find you and when he does, he might not communicate with words. You probably don't want to put yourself in the middle of a relationship with jealousy issues and the male part of it is hostile.
    Just my thoughts.
