Ha! I don't know why I thought there might be a different response from this group. Whatever. Post deleted. Sorry for interrupting the vendor vilification because Eric hasn't delivered ahead of his stated lead time

Did you read that article where they found the guys that did it (at least one of the groups) ? IIRC, they were visiting from Canada...

Once one person does it, the rest follow. I hate to say it, I'm also guilty of it, but it's just like the West Camino offshoots that will inevitably "open up".

No, I've actually never been to the Racetrack. I'd like to though. I'm just saying that people are sheeple. Once people start doing something, many tend to follow. We're all guilty of being sheeple at some point.

Well, we're heading out for New Year for a week if you would like to join. We have 5 vehicles I think. I can shoot you an invite to the FB event.

We'll be sure not to drive on it...

That would be awesome, but I'm going up to Forest Falls outside of Big Bear. Got my LA crew going for a (hopefully) snow wheeling trip.

Let me know if you do that again. I'm hoping for some snow camping and mid-week snowboarding sometime before I move to Colorado in March.

    I want to go... :(
Come to Mammoth when @fishfinder is! I'll now be there from the 26th to the 1st. Just got my new board ready to go!

You can camp down near the hotsprings. That is a free place to stay near mammoth!

I would love to, but a $120 lift ticket and extra $100 or so for gas and drinks is not in my budget right now. Aly will be unemployed as of our departure in March and my employment status is pending. DV will be our last great hurrah in California.

That said, I would love to organize an overnighter at Rock Camp or Middle Santa Ynez closer to when we leave. Somehow I have yet to meet a lot of local TW guys and it would be cool to do a trip with everyone before heading out.

When in March are you leaving? I can try to come up for a weekend trip.

My busy season at work is January 14 - March 28, but hopefully I have at least one weekend that I don't have to work on.

Cool. Let me know. I'll be most busy in the last two weeks of January and last two weeks of March. If I can make it, I'll be there!

Hey do you guys think the Hot Springs will be open this weekend? I know it might rain tomorrow.

Will do! They are normally pretty strict on it unfortunately... Don't really understand why it has to be closed until it is completely dry.
