If the cabin trip falls through, I'll join, but it's 100% confirmed for now.

    Congrats! Enjoy the holiday!

Sure thing. We're pretty much doing the entirety of DV, but our primary destination is the Saline Valley Hot Springs. I've been there a few times and was just there in early November. Looking forward to being back.

Hello everybody! I hate to ruin the flow of the thread but I have a question. Maybe 2 or three. :p

My girlfriend and I just moved here from San Antonio, TX. I need to get my truck registered in California.
That I'm aware of, I need to get my insurance here as well, (smog too??) and then get the truck registered.

We live in Ventura. What place, or places, would you guys recommend getting those things done?

I would start with dmv first, have them line u out on what u need. Ins I guess if ur current doesn't offer it here or what ever I use Mercury and am happy with them.

    Welcome to town!

Sorry, but I don't know any shops in Ventura so I can't really make any suggestions

Dooooood! When do we get to use the updated truck!?!?!?!? Have they given you a completion date?

Go to DMV. Make sure to make an appointment- do not go there without one. They'll have a rep visually inspect your truck there. You'll also need to get it smogged, which you can do at pretty much any service station.

If possible, keep it registered in Texas. Seriously.

It's moving along. Slow at times but I knew that going into it. We are shooting for 4-5 months. Next visit up there I'll get some update pics.

I've thought about it but the registration is up this month. I'd have to drive back to Texas to get it inspected and I wouldn't mind doing that but I would also hate to get a ticket or some kind of fine for not registering my truck here. We're planning on being here for at least one more year.
