I actually forgot mine at the tire shop when I upgraded, but really didn't care cause I didn't think anyone would ever buy them. I agree with the above post, get an estimate for similar used tires and give the guy a deal. Any $$ is good money, plus it's never a bad thing to have another friend at work

I'll take the 4ft Firestik CB Antenna & am interested in the Scepter Fuel Cans. Possibly the bedrail attachments. Got time for me to come take a look this afternoon?

@deadhed61 or @inv3ctiv3 - can either of you recommend a good suspension shop? I've never worked on a truck before and I've spent hours in the suspension forum only to feel more intimidated by trying to do the work myself. I have a 3rd gen TRD OR with a shell, sleeping platform with drawer system and gear. I'm guessing around 700 pounds total. I installed Firestone ride right airbags to compensate for the rear sag, but don't feel this is the best solution. I don't want the hassle of the bags not holding pressure overtime and putting in and taking out air. I want to upgrade to OME + extra leaf or expo leaf pack, UBolt flip and bumpstops. I'm not looking for a bunch a lift (an inch or two at most) because I still want to be able to fit in my garage. I'm having trouble trying to wrap my head around everything I would need to do to avoid vibrations etc. I'm so confused as to if I need bearing drop kit, new shocks and springs all around to level, replacing the driver’s side CV Axle Needle Bearing with the East Coast Gear Supply 8” clamshell bushing, etc.. I feel like I'm in over my head if I tried to do this myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm in Cayucos north of SLO, but would be willing to drive to get to the shop that's reputable.

I just did the bushing...super easy!! Make sure you buy the removal tool. You can rent the install tool for free from autozone

Good to know! I'll keep that in mind if I decide to do the work myself.

I would not throw the extra leaf in the dakars if you don't want to be lifted too much.

Really? Even with a constant load of 700 pounds? From everything I've read it seems like it would be needed.

I've never had to take my truck into a mechanic so I can't really give you any suggestions to local shop. Sorry.

Is the 700lbs always in your truck or is that your locked and loaded weight? If you're just looking to support the new weight with a new leaf pack and front coilovers I would advise you do just do the work yourself. If you're reasonably mechanically inclined its not a big deal at all. I had never worked on a truck before I did all mine and it went in just fine. Take a full day with a friend and just knock it out. The amount you learn about your truck with just doing it is worth not having a shop do it, IMO.

As for the vibes, I wouldn't try to tackle that "problem" until you get situated with the new suspension and you actually have an issue. Speaking from my 2nd Gen experience I know some trucks get vibes and some don't (same suspension set ups). Once the new suspension settles you can take it from there. And just start by getting your driveline angles correct. See HERE for info.

Not sure i was any help, but hey. haha

The 700# is always in my truck. My truck is not my daily driver and I keep it loaded. I bought the truck strictly to build as an "adventure/surf mobile". I am somewhat mechanically inclined and for the most part feel comfortable with replacing the leaf packs, Ubolt flip and bumpstops myself with a buddy. From the way things look, I'm sure I'll be adding front and rear plate bumpers at some point. I know you're right, I would learn a ton just by doing some of this work myself. I'm gonna take your advice and do what I can myself. As far as addressing the vibration issues if/when I get them is good advice. That definitely takes some pressure off.

So, you think I could just start with the leaf packs and front coilovers and leave the rest stock for now? Also, thanks for the link… So damn much to learn!

Keep in mind the additional weight of the bumpers when decided what suspension to get. You don't want to go and do it all over when you put those on...

Aside from upgrading the UCAs as well, that's pretty much what everyone upgrades. No real need to do anything else aside from extended rear brake lines so make room for any additional travel with the new leaf pack.

Good point! I don't want to have to do this over again. Ok, so adding UCA and brake lines.. Thanks for your input. Love your build, trip pics/reports and willingness to help, man.

I hear you on this.. and as much as it will hurt my wallet, I want to. But, being so new to all of this, if I am going to do it all at once, I have a lot more research to do over and above what I've already done for the rear suspension. It's pretty overwhelming, so many options to consider. I typically don't go the cheap route anyways, if I'm gonna spend the money I want it done right with quality parts. I've just got to figure out what it is I want/need to do. I do need to deal with the extra weight as soon as possible, so I think I'll start there.

    Thanks for the advice!

Ok, I'll do that. Thanks! I really don't want to spend a lot of money and have the wrong set up for my needs, that's for sure.
